Thanks to all the people who answered but apparently I am retarded and linked the wrong thing. I didn't care about my answer there. I was attempting to link a question but again I am the dumb.

Linking the wrong thing sucks especially when you don't even realize it until much much later.

What is there to refute,
Like the saying goes , there are no atheists in fox holes.

What does a man have to lose. When all seems to be lost, to reach out and pour you last ditch effort, especially when science has failed, to get help a cry out to God is to reach for the possibility of a last cry out.

Once a person does this it is an act of faith and God answers for it was done in acknowledgment of Him.

The parable of the workers in the field is this story in the bible. A man will pay say $100 to work in the field. The first passers by take the offer and start, then much much later in the day a group comes by they take the offer and start to work for the last hour. At quiting time the Owner of the field pays all the men the agreed amount. The reward was the same to work the soil for the master of the land.

The Holy Spirit draws them to Elohim, plain and simple.
It's like the atheist or what have you~ the bark is bigger than their bite. But mortal man feels that he/she is in control of their "destiny" and when death is at the door, they finally realize (thru the Holy Spirit of GOD), that there is not ONE thing that they can do, buy, barter, or beg.....to stop the last breath from occuring.

I would sum it all up with this,
EVEN THOUGH humanity's "nature" is strongly bent towards disobedience to our loving GOD; there is also a compass inside the soul of all mankind that points DIRECTLY to ELOHIM (GOD). The ONLY way to GOD is thru JESUS CHRIST, and this be TRUE, whether or not ppl choose to accept it. The tree that falls in the forest, when there are no witnesses around....STILL MAKES A SOUND! Christ and the personal relationship that we all must develop with HIM is our ONLY SALVATION.
It's such a tragedy, the way mankind had left GOD behind. Every soul knows, in the very innermost parts of his/her conscience, that Jesus is the son of GOD, every person KNOWS that GOD is real, and this is why they cry out to HIM when their days are at their end.....period.

Probably not... but I'll check.

OK... I read your answer. Not bad. I'll give you an B+ for being on the right track but you need to expound just a tad to help the 'slower' folks on here get your true meaning.

I think that I might have added these words to the answer you wrote.

"The old fool was crappin' in his pants and in a panic about all the guilt he was feeling... He was all hopped up on his own emotional juices; and, just hedging his bets a little bit, he foolishly decided to lay a few chips on the god-idea and make a few last minute confessions. The dumb old fart.

Won't people ever learn that there is no after-death-life? Really now.... how silly is that idea? Dead is dead."

The vast emptiness of our cursed self-consciousness drives us to superstition. The universe is vast. Sometimes we feel like we're in control of everything, when we're feelin' real good about ourselves-=-=Top o' the World, Ma! Then death comes knockin' and we realize again what we drink and sing and fornicate away during our salad days -- we are small insignificant creatures, not a lot that we do is going to have universal consequences, and we turn again to a mythical towel above the sky to give us comfort.

Yes you are correct my son. Go and sin no more.

BTW, regarding "when science fails him" (referring to the dying guy): I think our bodies naturally aging and eventually dying is, umm...not necessarily science failing. I think that's science in action, eh?

What is means is that when faced with life and death REAL things come to the forefront of your mind and you place things in proper priority. Your friend feels in his heart what he needs to find peace and comfort. It did not mean that he was non-religious up until his cancer diagnosis. It just meant that he let other things get in the way of what he truly felt in his heart. I hope his diagnosis and treatment go well for him.

You are correct and you are incorrect. The answer to this is in the mind of the person who speaks to you at that moment. Do you remember our conversation of yesterday?

Though I don'T know why people turn to God when in fear of death, I partly agree, itis of fear and I also believe our spirit which is "spiritual" realizes that there has to be an almighty one up there and needs that almyghty one because they fear condemnation, not only physical death...

It's one of those unexplained things. When a great uncle was diagnosed of terminal cancer he turned religious and gave us all long lectures about ... well you know what about.
There is something frightening when one considers the great black void, right?
