Instead of flaunting their superior theology(wisdom, Bible knowledge, perfect practices you name it) over each other?

Foxtrot, I only said "flaunting their knowledge etc. there is a difference between honest sharing in a spirit of unity and respect and throwing your superiority in others faces-I don't know that you do this, personally, so I am only speaking in general.

Peace be with you. Sparky--<~

We, as believers, must believe the same on the essentials of the faith, but beyond that there is great latitude in how a Christian should worship, serve, and live his life. This latitude is what causes so many different flavors of Christianity. Diversity is a good thing, but disunity is not. If two churches disagree doctrinally, it is fine that they remain separate. This separation, though, does not lift the responsibility Christians have to love one another (1 John 4:11-12) – and ultimately be united as one in Christ (John 17:21-22).

You know the saying walk the walk and just don't talk the talk. Well I feel that is what we Christians need to do. The flaunting of thelolgy and other things just isolates others and non- believers and can be a turn off. If Christians would just work together, live the life and the path Christ set for us and when others have questions for us we spoke plainly, gently, and encouragingly, I think we may see a difference. Remember, us christians are a light and our lives should refelct Christ.

Man is man be it Christian or what..it is God that changes the mind and thoughts of man. Christians come at all levels from immature to mature. No one is perfect, We are still learning. Some do flaunt their superior knowledge and wisdom referring only to what they have learned in the scriptures. Paul says man does not always get it right,we are to study and check the truth. Are there any perfect practices? We are lead by the spirit,Gods kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven and his will be done. Pray for what one needs, ask for wisdom and understanding! There is know Christian over another,we are all equal in Gods sight...yet at times we still fall short and are tempted on every side. It is by the grace and mercy of God we are still standing.

The only time I will " flaunt" anything is when i see a christian that is speaking from the heart instead of what the bible really means. That is unknowingly teaching false doctrine. The atheists always say that the Christians all have different answers . This is a problem . But we will always have one thing in common and that is our faith in the God of Abraham.

That is not a very uniting question.
The glaring flaw? You sound the appeal for unity, and then issue upon your demands that those who have perhaps, the firm foundation in scripture that others lack should , say, dumb down?
How is it a Christian should be ashamed of his knowledge?
Jesus knew the scriptures inside and out and told his followers to follow his example. So, if a Christian does not apply themself, to have a solid foundation in truth AND be able to impart it to others, this person is not following the Christ, and thus, is not a Christian.

I've found alot of Christians are full of crap and don't practice what they preach. They are some of the most judgemental people I've ever met. I am christian so I have nothing against christianity, just the superior, holier than thou attitudes many christians seem to have. It turns alot of people off to the religion. I honestly have no idea why they're like that. Maybe they're trying to show off to God. They should be sharing and spreading the word. Not using it to make themselves look better than others.

yes we are on the same side-and Jesus says to even love you enemies-how much more should we love our brothers and sisters and work for the common good in Jesus.

forgiveness is important on our part too-so we dont get a critical spirit. =relax and learn to forgive-as we work together-like my Jewish Messianic, and the evangelical bible churches, and Catholic Charismatic do too-yet there are those in religion that only have religion-and there is a spirit of religion and its self righteous and condescending.

this is how I learned forgiveness and it really helps=yes keep a good Spirit and its very true-"As I have forgiven you forgive others."
in salvation we owe Jesus everything-I repented from my sins asked Jesus into my heart to be my friend, and got born again. John 3 and Revelation 3:19&20 "I love you and ask you to repent quickly, Behold I stand at your heart's door and knock to come in, if you hear my word and open the door, I will come in and have fellowship with you and you with me."

I say unto you forgive 70 times 7.

"Vengence is mine saith the Lord, therefore I will repay."

a song-If I hold my peace and let the lord fight my battles, Victory oh Victory shall be mine."

never fear what others say yet try not to be guilty of putting others down-and edify others, our salvation is by faith in -only Jesus-and let him define you and you will have the victory, David-mind Jesus buisness

I do! I am a Christian and love it. But yes at times I think that Christians get really caught up in "sounding" christian instead of actually being Christian and loving one and another and working togeather. So I think that you are right on!

mmhmm. definitely. But it will come in time. I believe firmly in the teachings of Christians, but if we all united...dont you think all churches, organizations, etc would argue and fight if they wont even do something as simple as join together? Oh, well..this question is for God to answer and God only.
