Some beers can be made very quickly. Wheat beers are traditionally cloudy, so you won't have to wait for it to clear in secondary. Milds are intended to be drunk very young (often before they even get the chance to carbonate.

I once won a ribbon in a homebrew competition for a mild that I brewed seven days before the competition.

The shortest brewing time I have dealt with have been about a month. Mind you the longer it brews the better it taste. It also depends on the type of micro system that you have at home. Try this company they are really helpful and can give you better advice. I consider myself a novice still after 3yrs.

Good beer takes time. Look up ales vs. pilsners. Different brewing and different tastes. Worth the wait!
