The Bible teaches drinking in moderation is definitely not a sin. To be a drunkard is not wise.

Jesus changed water into wine. It even seems that Jesus drank wine on occasion (John 2:1-11; Matthew 26:29). In New Testament times, the water was not very clean. Without modern sanitation efforts, the water was often filled with bacteria, viruses, and all kinds of contaminants. The same is true in many third-world countries today. As a result, people often drank wine (or grape juice) because it was far less likely to be contaminated. In 1 Timothy 5:23, Paul was instructing Timothy to stop drinking the water (which was probably causing his stomach problems) and instead drink wine. In that day, wine was fermented (containing alcohol), but necessarily not to the degree it is today. It is incorrect to say that it was grape juice, but it is also incorrect to say that it was the same thing as the wine commonly used today. Again, Scripture does not necessarily forbid Christians from drinking beer, wine, or any other drink containing alcohol. Alcohol is not, in and of itself, tainted by sin. It is, rather, drunkenness and addiction to alcohol that a Christian must absolutely refrain from (Ephesians 5:18; 1 Corinthians 6:12).

It's not only a sin for you to drink alcohol, it is also a criminal act, as it is illegal for anyone under 21 to consume alcohol! Oh, did I fail to mention that it is *absolutely* *stupid* and *asinine*!

If you have been drunk before now, you had better get some medical/psychological help, because you sound like you a either on you way to become an alcoholic or a drunk!

If you used to struggle with alcohol, then I wouldn't go near the stuff if I were you. My brother-in-law had problems with alcohol before he married my sister. He had stopped for about two years but once they were married, he couldn't resist anymore and they are separated now because of it; that and the fact that he cheated. But the cheating started with alcohol. He gradually became more rebellious and wrecked his marriage. The sadder thing is that his son, who is seven now, had to go through a divorce when his life was very stable for the first time before that. It's not a sin to have a drink or two if you can hold it. It is a sin to get drunk. It's also a sin to cause your brother or a non-believer to stumble, so if any of your friends have problems with alcohol, you shouldn't drink in front of them.

If you are under the legal age to drink, it is a sin if you do so. You sound like you are going to get drunk, which is a waste. You should be filled with the Holy Spirit, making melody in your heart to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

alright if you aren't 21 then yes it is completely wrong because of
1 Peter 2:13
"yourselves for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority,"

and thus underage drinking is wrong, because the earthly authority that God set over us has put that rule in place.

And if you are over 21 then you can drink but not get drunk because of

Romans 13:13
Let us behave properly as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and sensuality, not in strife and jealousy.

Ephesians 5:18
And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,

So if you are 21 you can drink but not get drunk, and if you aren't 21 then you can't even drink at all, thats just how it is.

Brian, I don't think it is wise for you to be drinking at your age. Until you are of age, it is NOT a sin to drink, but to drink in moderation. Drinking is not a good way to start out your young adult years. You should think wisely and set a good example for your friends that you are with, I am sure they will look up to you for the good decisions you have made for yourself. Do the right thing.

Wine is mocker and beer is a brawler. I'd stay away from it if I were you. I have never drank in my life and I can say that I have had some awesome times. You don't need it. If you could possibly feel guilty about it, I am not going to sit here and tell you to do it. In fact, I would advise against it. The Holy Spirit may be trying to tell you something.

I don't have a problem with people drinking. I am a Christian and I have drunk a little alcohol in the past. I didn't like the way it made me feel. So, I don't drink anymore. If you can honestly drink a little without going overboard, I don't see any problem with it. Be careful though!

ok well first since you're asking you know you're not totally 100% ok with it...and since you just graduated high school you're not old enough to drink (which is illegal FYI)...and doing something illegal is going against authorities and the bible says that disobeying authorities is a sin. so in short drinking in itself is not a sin (but you shouldn't get drunk because the bible says drunkards are foolish) but you definitely shouldn't do it underage.

Do you believe drinking is a sin? If so, then you will be deliberately going against God's wishes. I don't recall anywhere in the Bible or anywhere else that tells us it is okay to sin under these circumstances but not under those circumstances etc. You will have to decide for yourself.
