And the sad thing is that most of those defending Bush are low or middle class persons who are very much in need of government protection and government help. Bush is spending over 9 billion dollars a month in Iraq, and the American people needs health care reform, help for the elderly, millions have to work harder than ever to make ends meet, etc, etc, etc.

There are two major types of people who defend Bush. First, there are the religious radicals, who have some idea of eliminating Muslims to reclaim Biblical territory.
They also have embarked on a relentless campaign to put women back into the kitchen, perpetually pregnant, while the male enjoys the superior status of head of the household.
Secondly, there is the Macho type, usually male, who believes in an aggressive approach to every problem.
All of these people pretend to be conservative, but the truth is our country has become a debtor nation, as the national treasury was looted and spent on a war that many people call needless. These Bush supporters cheer the war and spread the fallacy that only they can wage war, and only they can protect our country from terrorists....both outright lies.
They are deathly afraid of terrorism, because Bush peddles this fear. They forget the fact that the ports and borders are wide open, government agencies are a muddled mess of confusion, and Bush has placed our soldiers as targets in a country where the enemy could be lurking in any household.
It is a guerilla war, with the enemy hiding among the people, but for George Bush and his Generals, the answer to this is to send a platoon of soldiers and air cover, bomb the houses, strafe the citizens, raze the cities....while the enemy, the guerillas simply move on and continue the fight.
They don't believe in Big Government, but this Administration has added more departments to government than any other. There is the War Czar, who is to manage all our wars; and the Department of Homeland Security, which couldn't even handle a hurricane let alone a major terror attack.
They are against Abortion, but do not want to help feed the children of the poor. One of the conservative crowd said to me, "You breed 'em, you feed 'em!" and I think that sums up their feelings. However, many of them are deadset against Birth Control, so our already burgeoning population will continue to expand.
They disapprove of homosexuality and will not allow Gays to marry. Many of them disapprove of Gays even being able to join the military. They conveniently forget that the Constitution gives equality to all men, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation or religion. They also conveniently forget "Judge not, lest ye be judged!"
These are the people who defend George W. Bush, because he is arrogant, warloving, bigoted and cowardly. Forgive my harsh words. I used to be a Republican, but no more!

I support Bush because he was elected the President of
the United States (twice). I did not like (hell I hated him)
but I supported Bill Clinton when he was President and
now that he is no longer the President I can bash him all
I like.
I am sorry, I do not recall any taxes going up, and yes this
war has cost a lot but Freedom is never Free. Our initial
goal in Iraq was to oust Saddam Hussein, this was
accomplished, secondly we wanted to get rid of the
terrorists that had fled Afghanistan into Iraq. The problem
now is that since the Iraq election we have had, the different
sec's fighting each other, we need to go back in time when
Iraq was 3 separate countries and let the Shite have their
own country, and the others have their own countries.
Live Free or Die
EDIT: Note to nolis2, the true lunacy comes from the
Left or Democrats, you vote to go into the war, vow to
stop the war, vow to quit funding the war, vow to not back
down on the Military budget calling for time lines.
Then you vote against the war, do not stop the war, do
not stop the funding of the war and back down on the
Military budget time lines.
Just exactly what is this except LUNACY

Really? If all Bush cares about is the oil in Iraq, why is he allowing it to be burned?
What good has he done?
No Child Left Behind, that saved my life.
What good thing did Clinton do?
Really? He hasn't gotten the terrorists?
I mean, they definently haven't killed over 5,000 + terrorists.
Osama Bin Laden is funded by the CIA. The CIA is not in cohorts with the president.
Quit blaming George Bush because you have nothing else to blame it on, or you can't accept the inevitable. We'd still be having this war if Kerry had gotten elected.
Except we'd all be running around eating overpriced Ketchup and worrying about politcal correct-ness.

In both elections, it seemed we had two idiots to choose from, so Bush won the votes of the greater number of idiots. It didn't seem too relevant who won at the time. It was after the second election was done with that all the facts started to come out; no WMDs, outing the CIA agent, etc. It is now so clear that this Administration is wicked. If we knew then what we know now...
Still, will the Dems offer up a solid candidate in 2008? I'd vote for Hillary or Obama, but how many people won't vote for a woman or a black man? It won't take too many closet racists to swing the election to the Republican candidate. I just wonder if the Democrats truly can't find an intelligent white male in their ranks to run for President, or is there a chip on their shoulder? I have my fingers crossed for Obama.

While I will be the first to admit Bush has made mistakes, I still support my votes in 2000 and in 2004 that helped to put him in the White House.
We have not been attacked since 9/11. Al Qaeda is on the run and we are fighting them in Iraq, Afghanistan and probably other places we don't know. Would you rather we fight them in New York City again?
The Iraq War was NOT a mistake in concept simply because there are problems there. We will be victorious there.
Taxes are lowered, the economy is strong and unemployment remains at 4.5%.
All in all, not bad.

A better Question is why do people defend the Democrats and put Bush down? He is a far better president than the one he replaced. Bin Ladin's group has suffered massive losses in its command struture since 9-11. Do you actually believe Gore would have lifted a finger to do anything after we had 3000 people killed?

I really don't know why people defend Bush. Every country he goes to hates him. It's one thing to be hated in your own country but to be hated around the world is another. There is no end to this war. His whole administration are using bullying tactics. Our way or the highway. He doesn't listen to the people about nothing. I am including the people who voted for him. Well his legacy will not be a good one when history rates his time in office.

Apparently you are someone who believes anything that is reported on T.V. Our president deserves respect and cannot be blamed for everything that goes wrong. He's not a King making rash decisions, our system requires that he does not make them alone, Nor can he solve them alone. Thank goodness that our general population doesn't have a clue what is really taking place is that office. Those who are panicking over Global Warming would collapse!
