I love it but everyone else in my household is allergic to it, so rather than waste a whole tub just for me, I want to know if I can freeze what I don't use for future use.

I've always heard not to. So I did some research.

"You can freeze almost anything; you just may not like it when it thaws. Sour cream is a case in point.

Sour cream breaks down and separates when frozen and thawed. You can stir it back together, but it won't have the texture you expect if you put a dollop on your baked potato or tortilla, or use it in a dressing or dip. "

Plus freezing stuff like Sour Cream causes the cultures and germs to grow at a faster rate, so it spoils very quick.

yes you can freeze sour cream I freeze sour cream all the time when want use it for another 2 weeks

you can freeze sour cream but split it into containers that you need and do not keep frozen more then 3 months

Nope, can't freeze it, you can try, but it probably will taste awful. But it sure will not hurt you to try.

You can but it separates and becomes curdle-like and loses its flavor and consistency.
