HELLO,
MANY PEOPLE THINK THAT MERCURY IN DENTAL FILLINGS IS DANGEROUS. THIS IS SIMPLY FALSE.
WHY?
BECAUSE THIS IS NOT ELEMENTAL MERCURY AS IS FOUND IN THERMOMETERS. WITH MERCURY THIS IS BOUND CHEMICALLY TO SILVER. ONCE IT BECOME AS BOUND IT GETS AMALGAMATED TO THE OTHER METAL. THERE IS NOT A POSSIBILITY OF IT COMMING LOOSE OR BECOMING FREE MERCURY.

It is only harmful if you are allergic. There is only a minute amount of mercury in the filling and is sealed once it's cured. However, once drilled on or taken out - precautions are taken as to the disposal. You couldn't have enough amalgam fillings in your mouth to be hazardous, unless, like I said you are allergic. Plus, amalgams are stronger & last longer than resin fillings!

Mercury in fillings is not harmful because it is not metabolized by the body. Mercury in seafood is an organic form and is actually toxic at high levels.

im not sure. my mom said she had a dentist that would only use the white ones (that contained no metal and matched your tooth color) because he thought that eventually having that metal in you would effect you somewhere down the road.
