eve is a clone of adam, god took a rib from adam, and made it eve, therefore, adam and eve committed serious incest when they had sex together,

if you think that you are a son or daughter of adam and eve, then you are officially a bastard according to the law; even that, that doesn't make sense why different christians have different skin colors

I agree that if you take that story literally, all humans should have the same skin color, especially since most humans believe that the world hasn't been around longer than about 6000 years. That doesn't give our skin much time to adapt to different levels of sunlight, which is what science says caused different skin types--mellinin levels are different by region of origin because some people needed higher levels of protection, even if they didn't know it, and darker people survived longer and bred more, thus producing darker skinned descendents--and vice versa for the lack of a need of protection.

Have you ever wondered, too, where Adam and Eve's sons and daughters were supposed to get spouses from? I don't think they married each other--I think there was a mention of people from an outlying land of some type--or the Other People or some such. But doesn't that mean that Adam and Even WEREN'T the first people? Hmmm.... :-)

Two caucasians can have a black baby -- or even a child of a different race. It's been in the news before, and it's also possible in the genetic code.

Regarding "incest", human genetics deteriorate from generation to generation. This means that we currently have a lot of errors in the gene code. However, since Adam and Eve were the first generation, their would have been few errors in the genetic code. Therefore, they would not have produced diseased offspring as happens today. "Insest", therefore, was not a big deal in those early days.

On a side note, in order for evolution to occur, we would need to see an increase in the quality of the genetic information -- not a decrease.

Also, if some of you could do a little research before asking your questions, it would be much appreciated to the rest of us.

I don't know how many time I have to explain this:

When a population group is isolated, it is unable to receive new genetic material. The population begins to develop certain traits. These traits may be in the area of skin color, hair color or texture, height, build, skull shape, or many things that are not obvious to the eye. This could include a prediliction to certain diseases, or an immunity to various conditions.

This is how various breeds of horses and dogs are produced. With people, this was not done scientifically, but the result was the same.

Skin color is a direct result of the production of a chemical called mellinin (spelling may be wrong). The production of this chemical is much higher in those individuals who live constantly in a climate where a great deal of sunshine is present..such as near the equator. Over a period of time, as people moved away from the equatorial regions, their skin produced less mellanin, resulting in a lightening of the skins color over a period of generations. This process is called mutation...which means a change in the body brought about by enviornmental factors (that usually come about as the needs of the body change). It is likely that Adam and Eve were either originated by God as being dark skinned or the darkness of the skin occurred later...as you can witness when you look at people from that region today.

All the races were created on the sixth day. OK? Adam and Eve were not created until AFTER the seventh day. Read the first 3 pages of genesis.

Skin color gets selected based on local environment. Based on the history of human migrations that I know about, it only takes about 1000 years for a population to change its skin color.

What? Natural selection used to justify the Adam & Eve story? Ohhh, my head sure hurts now.

Adam and Eve would have had darkish skin because of the part of the world they lived in. All skin colours will change and evolve depending on the climate, exposure to sun etc...

Because of sin, Men and women thought they were better than God. So God confused their languages. Think about it if a group of people do not understand each other than they have no business staying together. Many people moved to different area of the world to create their own culture and spread their language. Those who moved to colder areas got lighter and those that moved to hotter areas (like Africa) got darker, and eventually these different colored people joined together to make mixed colored people. Different colored people can have the same faith. And we are not bastards. It is true that we are descendants of Adam and Eve but they are not our parents. They had their own children, their children had their own children, etc.

What color were Adam and Eve to begin with?
They're always depicted as white. Is there a scripture in the Bible that described Adam and Eve as being white?
