For the nipping try this. This method helped me allot. It has given me much better results than the many other methods I have tried. This was written for Corgi puppies but it applies to most all puppies. Once you get the web page up scroll down to were it talks about nipping.

Physically punishing your dog will create tension and may cause your dog to continue biting. They may also think you want to play and try to play back.

I squirt bottle may help, but what I have found most successful with all of the dogs I've worked with is removing your attention from them. All dogs want your attention and love. If your pup bites, leave the room (without saying anything). Close a door between you and the dog to separate you from your dog. Wait five seconds then go back into the room with your dog and continue what you were doing. Be consistent with this. Your dog will quickly learn that if they don't bite, you will continue to play.

Making sure that your dog has lots of exercise will reduce the likeliness of them biting. Also lots of chew toys will help with teething so that will not be an excuse for your dog to bite.

Good luck!

Teething does not occur 'usually', he is both teething, by means of round four - five months, or now not. Teething is the phrase used for whilst the dog tooth are available, and whilst the dog tooth begin to get replaced by means of the grownup set. If he is nipping, which all dogs do in view that that is how they converse inside the nest (facet of!), as might occur along with his siblings, yelp, and finish the touch. His clutter associates might yelp and switch away, or come again with a equivalent assault and a brief spat might occur.. Try to not allow him get to the extent in which he bites. If he will get this wound up, take him out to drain, after which convey him in to his mattress. Chances are he is getting overtired, and can drop off to sleep. Also say No Biting! - and also you would additionally supply him certainly one of his possess toys while. No shouting, grabbing his face or whatever bodily, in view that as a way to, with a few dogs, handiest make him come again for extra - he thinks you're becoming a member of within the sport.

When a dog bites it is necessary to give an enforced "NO" repitiously until they stop. Then praise the dog by giving it a treat of some sort. This takes repition until the dog understand the pattern. It's not so smart to punish the dog for biting. if you applaud it's behavior afterward the dog will eventually understand to stop

Whenever the dog bites graw its lower jaw forcefuly (but not painfuly). Look the dog in the eyes and say 'No bite' forcefuly. I try this with my dog and it's making progresse even if it's a 7 month puggle. Apuggle is a pug and a beagle. FIY!

What i did with my dog, ( a golden retriever and border collie) is took a fly swatter and smacked him once hard when he misbehaved, the first time he got hit he learned his lesson, then next time don't hit him full blown hard but tap him and he should learn, if not hit a little harder. If it doesn't work after a first few times try keeping him in "detention" until he learns. Hope this works ~John~
P.s also reward him

everytime your puppy bites your hand put your fingers down his throat just a little so its uncomfortable but not harmful to the puppy do this quickly just enough to trigger his gag reflex they seem to catch on to this rather quickly.

whenever your puppy starts to bite, take his lower lip and fold it into his mouth and basically make him bite his lip hard enough for it to hurt him and for him to realize that biting is bad. Also, tell him no biting, bad ........(his name)

hope this helps.

Keep a spray bottle handy. Fill it with clear water and give him a squirt and a firm NO when he misbehaves.
