If you have dark spots (aka hyperpigmentation) left behind by acne, you have a number of ways of getting rid of them.
1) Your dermatologist can prescribe Tretinoin/Tretinoid. This is a topical derivative of Vitamin A and it's effective at diminishing and erasing dark spots.
2) If you book a consultation session with a medical spa, you can get information of Glycolic Peels, Photo Facials, Microdermabrasion and laser resurfacing. Depending on the colour of your complexion, your cosmetic dermatologist or your cosmetic nurse will recommend the best treatment for you.
3) Kojic Acid is also known to reduce hyperpigmentation. Your cosmetic dermatologist can help you there again.
4) There are also other topical products that can help face acne marks and your cosmetic dermatologist can help you there again.
5) a home base exfoliant mask can also help in accelerating skin renewal.
You should be very careful with fading creams that are sold without a prescription because some (many) can cause cancer in the long run. There are some pretty scary storied coming out of the UK about those types of creams.
For your oily skin, it would be recommended that you use a clarifying astringent once you're done cleansing your skin. This will help manage the sebum level in your skin. During the summer months, you might need to cleanse your skin a couple times per day. Even with oily skin you should avoid regular soap and opt for a cleansing gel.
My best recommendation to you is to consult a dermatologist or cosmetic dermatologist (found in every city in Canada). If you go blindly into trying to fix a situation without proper knowledge, you may end up with a worst case than what you started out with...and you wouldn't want that to happen.

For blackheads / acne you need to see this guide https://tr.im/skincare828 There are many solutions out there but most are just hyped up marketing schemes. There are simple solutions that worked in the past and still work without using chemical based solutions. I'd go as far as saying we use to many chemicals on our skin and body. The trick is to strip them away and perform basic techniques once or twice a week.
To answer your question about blackheads and skin in general. Some people have oily skin and others have dry skin. Its just a matter of doing the right thing for your skin type. A little research will help figure out what each skin type likes and doesnt like. Its not a single solution for everyone.

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.
The secret is never to touch the spots
Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days?

Hi,
I am a dermatologist by profession and within a careeer of 10 years I have seen lots of acne problems. According to me Red and white pimples are the worst and painful. Acneprone skin is very sensitive, even if you touch it once the redness will increase with itching. According to me there is no magical way to heal your pimples over night as this is the puffed part of your skin due to the bacteria.
In simple words try to improve your diet and have lots of water that helps in healingg process. Un-necessary oily food should be avoided to get a healthy spotless skin.

I've heard that microderm abrasion works well for eliminating surface scarring from acne. You might also try exfoliating with a good masque at least twice a week. Get on a good skin care regimen as well to get your acne under control if it isn't.
Good luck.

use a fade cream that is suited for your skin type. if you are white or black. I am black and I use skin success fade cream or makari.
if you are white try clarins, bright plus. there are so many other fade creams out there but avoid ones that have hydroquinone. its harsh and might damage your skin.

if they are red spots, these would go away by themselves, but could take months...
