So you can kill something else so that you don't hafta die? I'll admit I think that you people are really really lost. (not bad) lost. I think that you have really been led astray.

I wish you all the best.
God is Real.
God is Loving.
This world is an illusion. We all hafta shed our body of this illusion to return to our true state. Christ taught about our life beyond this illusion. He taught that the death of the body is not an absolute death. He gave us the knowledge of our eternal life. He didn't create it by dying. He also didn't remove the need for us to die to the world by dieing himself.

There is no self improvement. Self has to go. Jesus came and man killed him. Men continue to kill all the way up until today. They thought Jesus was just another man but he wasn't. Jesus knew his destiny and accepted it - for the good of us all. Maybe you can compare it to the soldier who throws himself on a grenade to save his comrades. Heroic or human sacrifice? So in a way, God took advantage of man's evil by sending a perfect man, with no evil, who eventually became a sacrifice for sin. He accomplishes several things all at once. He fulfills the sin requirement, restores relationship to those who want it and starts the church. And remember, he is not dead.
Now that is what I call love. I would have wiped the whole lot of us out. But I'm not God.

See, the problem is, you've already contradicted yourself with your own question. Christians don't believe in OR advocate HUMAN sacrifice. Our Lord and Saviour was no ordinary man, but the Son of G-d.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.(Genesis 1:1)
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.(Proverbs 1:7)
The fool has said in his heart,“There is no God.” (Psalm 14:1)
There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. (Proverbs 14:12)
“The heart is deceitful above all things,And desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings.(Jeremiah 17:9-10)
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans (6:23)
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6)
“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:15)

well...first of all...Christ wasn't just a human...he was 100% man and 100% Jesus...so...it wasnt human sacrifice...and...im not trying to say that any one in particular is going to hell...but who does is going to be in eternal death...and so Jesus Christ payed the death penatly for us...just like if someone has done something very bad and the legal system gave them the death penalty...its like someone taking that persons place...so...its not really sacrificing...its just taking the place of the sinners...i hope this helps...:)

They do not advocate it. Mankind never IMAGINED it. Until God gave His son.
We all rightfully hold in honor and esteem those soldiers who, for the sake of their friends, jumped on a hand grenade, or took the bullet for them.
We don't advocate human sacrifice by honoring them. We simply show that we respect sacrifice.

The way that people would atone for their sins before Jesus was born was to sacrifice livestock. The reason this was so important was because livestock was a precious commodity to them. That was what they raised and sold as a means to live (literally).
Sacrificing one's self, however, is the ULTIMATE way to show another that you love them. How much more important would it be to sacrifice a LIFE once and for all (in order to do away with animal sacrifices forever) rather than one of your livestock?
Would you sacrifice your own life in a situation where someone you loved was going to die a horrible death if you didn't? I would. I have a husband AND a daughter--and if it came down to it, and someone wanted them dead, I would offer my life in place of theirs.
Likewise, Jesus offered Himself as a way to atone for our sins. If He'd not done so, we would ALL be spending eternity in a burning pit of fire. But because he decided to sacrifice His own life, we don't have to do that if we choose to accept Him as our Savior and follow His ways for the remainder of our lives.
Blessings to you, and I pray that you find the peace and life that you are searching for. :)

it wasn't that we say go kill for a better life. It was that Christ gave His life for us even to the point of death that we may have a better life. also without His death AND resurrection we wouldn't have anything. It is through His resurrection that we have what we have. after all I serve a risen Lord not a dead person.

As it says in the Bible, "The wages of sin is death, for the gift of God is eternal life THROUGH Christ Jesus our Lord."
Jesus paid the price for every sinner. He died in place for us, so that if we accept him as our Lord and Savior, we may live FOREVER with him. So in turn that is one death in exchange for millions of souls to live for eternity.
Seems like a pretty good deal, right? You should talk to my people(God) about it sometime!

They condone ritual human sacrifice by, "Jesus died to save me from my sins, so it was ok."
Bronze Age ritual human sacrifice is nothing more than it is, a barbaric ritual. But, what did you exect from gullible people who believe in such bollocks?
