You need a good strong routine. Wake up at the same time every day, eat meals at the same time, have planed activities at the same time every day or week. I would really like to know what you mean by babying?
Where did the child learn to curse, steal ect? Don't give in if the child cries because he/she didnt get something. So what? You cant have everything you want all the time. Teach the child to use approiate words to communicate and that anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated! Imagine what kind of trouble the parents will have at 15. This child does not respect the parent and needs to be retrained. Consistant Parenting, reinforcement and a really strong routine
To me it sounds like that child has learnt to get its own way no matter what. Your the adult! the adult runs the show! One other thing is to lead by example.

If you are a stay at home mom, simply do not allow your child to sleep all day, if you must send them to a daycare provider, instruct them to keep him/her awake. To stop babying a preschooler is another story. My five children didn't get babied after they turned 3 years old. That is the age they are potty trained, off the bottle and is time for them to be a big kid. The stealing, lying and crying is being learned from somewhere. i would find out where an put a stop to it. Maybe an older sibling? I wish you luck. God Bless!

First, you need to adjust the child's natural clock, that means get the child to sleep at night not during the day. Keep the child awake!!! Five is very young, you need to show your authority and explain cursing, stealing, lying etc. is not good and you won't tolerate it. Have a word with the parents too, they are also responsible. Do your best. Good luck

It sounds like this child/children need some sort of discipline and a routine. NO, I'm not saying go spank the child or take away their toys...by discipline I mean it to go with routine. They need to know it's not ok to curse, steal, and lie. The crying part is normal for children that haven't learned to control their emotions yet. Now for the sleep...good luck because I have a nocturnal child myself and she stays up late, even if it's just laying in bed in the dark, and gets up late. I think it's a learned behavior.
good luck...not sure if this is what you wanted or not

YOU NEED TO KEEP THE CHILD UP LONGER AND LONGER EACH DAY UNTIL HE GRADUALLY MOVES INTO THE RIGHT SCHEDULE. HE IS IN REVERSE.EACH DAY DO 1 HOUR OF KEEPING HIM UP. IF HE WATCHES A CERTAIN SCHEDULE OF TV SHOWS TAPE THEM AND MOVE THEM UP AN HOUR EACH DAY OR EVERY 2 DAYS UNTIL HE IS ON THE CORRECT TIME CLOCK.IT WILL THEN CORRECT ITSELF. YOU SHOULD NOT BE BABYING A PRESCHOOLER AT ALL. ALL THESE BEHAVIORS NEED TO BE DEALT WITH IMMEDIATELY.YOU ARE ASKING FOR TROUBLE. THIS CHILD WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ADAPT TO KINDERGARTEN . I FEEL YOU SHOULD NOT JUST COLD TURKEY THE BABYING UNTIL YOU SIT WITH YOUR CHILD AND ACTUALLY TALK IT OUT AND IN CHILDRENS TERMS TELL THE CHILD WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO, WHAT U EXPECT FROM THE CHILD AND THAT, THATS THE WAY IT IS GONNA BE. A 5 YEAR OLD ALSO NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THE CHANGE IS ABOUT AND THAT IT IS NOT OK TO ACT AS THE CHILD HAS BEEN ACTING, MAYBE BUY OR CUT OUT BIG BEAUTIFUL STARS AND EACH DAY OR START OUT WITH EACH HOUR AND COLLECT THE STARS ON THE REFRIGERATOR WITH A PICTURE OF HIS OR HER FAVORITE TOYS THAT THEY HAVE TO EARN OR NEW LITTLE TOYS OR BIG BOY OR GIRL THINGS FOR WHEN THEY WILL START KINDERGARTEN , ETC. WHEN MY CHILDREN MISBEHAVED I USED A METHOD OF GETTING A GARBAGE BAG OUT AND COLLECTING THEIR MOST FAVORITE TOYS AND TOOK THE BAG AND PUT IT IN THE GARAGE I EXPLAINED THAT IF THEY DIDNT STOP THAT THE GARBAGE TRUCK WILL BE COMING OR AS THEY BEHAVE BETTER AND BETTER 1 THING AT A TIME WILL BE GIVEN BACK .
HOPE THIS HELPS KIM

babies are not fabulous at typing or spelling. however i've got faith there are some babies around yahoo solutions thinking the failings i've got seen. it incredibly is the only explanation i will arise with. i pass to the infant and Preschooler section each so often simply by fact I certainly have one and that i comprehend issues approximately them. I certainly have critiques and such..... comparable reason I come right here :) you're precise, it incredibly is exciting. I consistently ask your self with regard to the books & authors section too - by no potential as quickly as have I seen a question from an incredibly e book.

Go and search advice with a really good child psychologist. The child and the parents need drastic changes in their lifestyle, and professional help( educators should participate too)..Children are not small adults, they are forming creatures and need guidance and help from the adults.
Good luck!

This is not the child's fault. It sounds like the parents have not set boundries for this child. He sounds like he is begging for attention and rules. Please do not take it out on the child. You need to educate the parents on proper parenting, setting bedtime rituals, consequences for cursing, lieing, stealing.
