I would only like my child to be a pastor or religious scholar if that is what they wanted to be. Especially, if one is to be a pastor it must be a "calling" in life not a forced issue to please someone else. The important thing is whatever their career it is most important to trust in God and have a relationship with Him, whether one is a pastor or factory worker.

If I ever had children who would want that path, I wished it to them, but otherwise you can do so much for God without the "burden" of that profession.

I think it is more important to feed the poor and hungry.

If I felt my son were being called by God to use his gifts and talents to do so, yes I would.

But in my son's case, he seems to have a God-given gift with animals. From house pets to farm animals, they all love him, so I really want him to use that and become a veternarian.
