I think that in today's society, people get married for all the wrong reasons. They get married because "she's pregnant"; because they "love each other"; and because they "just want to". No wonder why 50% of all marriages end in divorce. Don't get me wrong, I am an advocate for love and marriage, FOR THE RIGHT REASONS. I also think that you don't need a piece of paper to declare your love and commitment to someone. Why not have a ceremony without the license? Really......think about it. The best thing that could happen by getting married to someone you truly love is that you stay together til death while having tax benefits? The best thing that could happen by spending the rest of your life with someone you truly love without getting married? Simple, you get to spend the rest of you life with someone you truly love. The worst thing that could happen when you get married- you end up divorced, with psychologically damaged children, broke, and depressed. So to answer your question, you don't have to get married at any age.

In my opinion, the right time has two aspects. One, when you're both financially secure enough to live independently. The second is when you're both ready and willing to put the effort in to make it work. Marriage for me has been a wonderful, rewarding thing, but it's not always easy. I think of it like a partnership thing. You work together 50/50. Sometimes one might carry the other through hard or stressful times, but in the long run you both need to offer equal support. So the best age is when you're both mature enough to carry through on this. I was 22 when I married. I was still pretty immature, but I grew up a lot the first couple years. Hope this helps. Good luck to you!

I dated lots of people and did not find the right man untill I was 25 we dated for 3 years and got married when we were both 28. We had our first daughter at age of 32 and my son at 35.

I am glad that I waited because if I didn't I think I would have made a bad mistake having kids early and probly a divource. I am still happily married after 14 years.

U can plan to get married at a certain age like by ur mid 20's or early 30's... just as long as ur ready to tackle the responsibilities of being married, its not only the financial part but also having to make sacrifices in ur life, like party life, maybe guy friends so on and so fourth, if you know deep in ur heart ur ready to make dat commitment then ur ready to get married! good luck!

I got married at 21 and recently celebrated my 12th anniversary already. My wife and I are very happily married still and I don't see that ever changing. Everyone is different I guess, maybe it has a lot to do with life experiences and upbringings (home, family, friends, etc.), but you must be willing to sacrifice, listen, understand, and support one another.

I would say no less than a year of dating. Late 20s early 30s have the best chance of success. Early to late 20s we are still growing and evolving.
