Are you able to differentiate dreams from reality? Most dreams seem so real that it's difficult to tell what's real and what's not? Does that make sense to you?

Ok like this afternoon I took a nap. At one point during this dream, I thought I was awake and walking around my apartment and ordering a pizza. Then I woke up and it's like, "What the heck?!" Did I dream that or did I order a pizza? LOL ( ^ _ ^ )

the trick is lucid dreaming (to know your dreaming when your dreaming)
My Dad bought a pricey mask that has a blinking light that comes on when his eyes start Rapid Eye Movements. But there are other ways too;
if you start to keep a dream journal it helps
also think about your dreams before you go to sleep like "tonight I am going to fly in my dreams"
and if you think "I might be dreaming" then check by jumping in the air and see if you can touch the power lines up above you

another trick that works for me is I look up and for some reason there are never ceilings in my dreams there is just space

I had a weird fever dream one time. I was laying in bed and wanted something to drink. So I got up to get some water from the kitchen. When I got the water, I woke up.

I spent like an hour dreaming I was getting water and not being sure if it was real or not,

I also had something else happen that I submitted to an online paranormal journal.

Here's the story: http://paranormal.about.com/library/blstory_june07_14.htm

Hi, Yes it makes a lot of sense to me. I have had a few dreams that i felt like i could reach out and touch someone or something.When i got up in the morning it felt like i was really there and would have to think hard to realize it was a dream. A dream that is so in touched with you is really trying to tell you something or someone is trying to give you a message about something. Yes i agree with you all the way.

there are times when the dream is so crazy i know it is a dream because it cannot be real...then there are times when i don't know if i am dreaming or awake and actually start to wake up and continue doing whatever i am doing in my dream...for instance i was dreaming i was in this hotel room and as i was waking i got up and walked to where the door was in my dream...only to run face first into the wall...this was a bedroom i have been in for 15 years and nothing has changed...

My dreams are abstract and hardly cross the surreal line. When they do I wake up horribly frightened. For me, I believe my mind protects me with the odd dreams that I have. Others whose dreams are lucid may be able to handle a greater degree of stress.

lol, this is a good question. i usually don't have problems telling dreams apart from what is really going on.
the only exception is like conversations from dreams that just seem so real that i think they actually happened.
but usually i am so exhausted when i go to bed and wake up that i don't even remember my dreams

I always know I am dreaming. I have a way to wake myself out of a bad dream as well....in my dream I simply fall backwards and then wake up. I have been doing this since I was a kid.
