Jesus Christ is offensive. He gives absolutes. The Bible is offensive. It gives absolutes. People say or do things every day that are offensive to my beliefs. People, if you disagree with me, fine, but if you think you have the right to live without me expressing my beliefs as much as you express yours, then move to China. You'll fit in well there. (On re-reading what I just wrote, it sounds angry--I'm not really, just trying to make a point.)

I didn't say that people should not be offended; only that they should not expect to have the right to NOT be offended. I thought that was clear.

Because people are generally selfish, and don't want to be told that they are doing anything wrong. That's why people began believing that there is no absolute truth, so you can't confront them with the truth.
The Bible says that the Gospel will be an offense to many. That offense might just save someone's eternity.
Why is it that people constantly demand tolerance but refuse to be tolerant of Christians who are trying to do them good.
Keep sharing! I am one who came to a saving knowledge of Christ because someone was willing to offend me to save my life. It took a while, but it finally got through. Now I am the one who is offending people, simply because I care about them!

Too true, too true. Everywhere we turn nowadays somebody's getting all upset about how someone else's words offended them. And believes the offender should be punished. And appeals to the powers-that-be to do the punishing, whether it's the courts, the school administration, their employer or whatever.
Whatever happened to sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me?
I believe in the Bible, but I don't get offended by those who bash it. Can't have a free exchange of ideas if words that unintentionally offend cause the speaker to be punished.

The final factor that angry me used to be this silly pc. I compressed a few documents from (are you equipped for this one?) 50 days right down to 30 days (how lengthy must the method wait earlier than compressing historic documents? &c.) and whamee! No pc! God, did that scare me! And then I realised how unhappy I felt and the way angry that this pc might dare to allow me down like that. How do you spell dependency? Or perhaps even co-dependency? So humorous now, nevertheless it wasn't humorous then. So normally we will appear again and spot how silly we have been being and the way we reacted, but if it is occurring for truly the primary time by way of it's truly and it hurts and you do not know what to do.

Today Everybody is offended or (Mad) about something.
Think of ten people you know & my guess 75% are Offended about something.
I would say You made Your Point quite well;
In The U.S.A. We can speak up & say what is on our Mind,
This is not the case in most Countries;
To some the Cross is an Offense
To others it is Salvation

I don't. Say whatever you like.
But if you're going to be a jerk and threaten people with hell for not believing in your religion, I'll give you a piece of my mind.
Reciprocity.
But I do prefer to engage others with a sense of courtesy, so hopefully you will reconsider your approach. I like the idea of mutual respect.
Edit: Do not forget that conservatives are the group that often opposes individual liberties, because they are "offended" by Plan B, atheists and other religions, and radio/tv shows from Howard Stern to Queer as Folk. And there have been conservative movements from biblical folks to ban such material from a consenting, adult audience. So who is being offended?

I am Christian and I somewhat agree, I personally am offended by evangelicals who go around saying that Christ is the only way to go to heaven I really dont agree with that.
Alot of Christians fail to realize that Christ himself was Jewish and he followed Jewish law... Does Christianity sound less "offensive" when I say that?

I'm with you brother ! Truth is always confrontative even if it is spoken without the intention of offending.
"If you accept Jesus , the Rock-you'll rejoices; if you reject the Rock- it'll crushed you"
Truth is offensive only to those who would not embraced it !

Yep. It's funny how everything offends them yet they get all annoyed at the thought of anyone else being offended BY them.

I don't know. Let's all stick our heads in the sands.
Don't laugh, that's were it's all headed. The more we worry about offending and being offended, the closer we get.
