Contrary to what others are saying, Gravity is still just a theory. It cannot be proved to be in effect on evry known system. In fact, it is thought that at the sub-atomic level, it does not exist.
It is considered a law by some because anyone can see the effects. Evolution is also a theory, but people can't seem to accept it as readily because they can't see the effects themselves.
But, like Gravity, Evolution works whether people believe it or not.

Oh dear, I think this was just supposed to be a light-hearted commentary on bumper-stickers. I rather like the one that says "He who dies with the most toys, wins". It is heavily ironic, of course, and I don't really believe that, it just seems to sum up our materialistic obsession.

So, Gravity and Evolution.

Yes, Evolution is still just a theory, mostly because, although natural selection does seem to have some relevance, gthere is no single instance of one 'transitional' species, that is a species actually changing fromm one sort to another. So, theory.

Gravity exists and it's effects are demonstrable, and therefore it's existence is not in question. However the source of it most certainly is. Newton is commonly and mistakenly credited with 'discovering' gravity, and every child who has been to some sort of school is likely to have heard about the apple that allegedly fell on poor old Isaac's noggin.

However, no matter how brilliant Mrs. Newton's boy was he did not discover the source of gravity. an apparently inexhaustible energy-supplied force with unlimited range, technically that's impossible !

Got any theories ? ;-)))

Theories are particularly astounding issues. in case you think of that theories have little validity then you definately could give up using your microwave oven, via fact it fairly is "in easy terms a concept" that microwaves tuned at a undeniable frequency warmth up water molecules. How approximately that theory that gravity... properly, you already know, exists? Buckroar: you're proving the asker precise. the factor is that decrease than the regime of the scientific technique you will under no circumstances pass previous a concept to 3 hypothetical "fact" (a theory that doesn't fairly exist in science). you initiate off with a hypothesis and slowly deliver at the same time extra data to tutor or disprove it. There are a number of intermediate steps alongside with equipment and paradigm earlier you may declare that some thing is a scientific concept. pass examine a e book, different than the Bible, for as quickly as.

There are some very ignorant and scientifically illiterate religious fruitcakes on these forums..

Evolutionary theory is considered as FACT, as is the garvitational theory.
These people CHOOSE to ignore the difference between a "scientific theory" and the laymans term "theory".. They are NOT the same..

How about a bumper sticker: NO GOD NO WAR, or:
..If you are ignorant, simple minded, ill informed, hypocritical, in denail and scientifically illiterate, how about becoming a christian..?..

As odd as it sounds Evolution theory is far better supported than the theory of gravity. The third link is my favourite.

Really? Where can I buy one?

I like the metal fish with the legs sticking out that says "Evolution" on the inside.

I also like "Cuthulu for President: Why settle for the lesser evil?".

I am sick of religion in politics and the candidates who hawk their faith for votes. I may also vote for Bambi, depending on who the Democrats nominate.

(P.S. "Cuthulu" is a mythical monster by H.P. Lovecraft whose goal is to destroy humanity).

I think Gravity is a Law not a Theory.

You hear people saying "based on the law of gravity ..... " and not "base on the theory of gravity ....."

But before it becomes a law, it was a theory. In scientific terms, you need to prove a theory before it can become a law.

However, having said that, I think most Christians got it backwards. Everything in the bible is a Law until it is proven to be a theory, then a hypothesis, and in the end becomes a metaphor.

I'd jokingly say "Oh, and don't forget the "germ theory". Everybody knows that it's false! That's why it's only a theory!"

The people who say that "Evolution is only a theory" show ignorance of what a scientific theory is.

gravity isn't a theory... it's a truth. Evolution is actually a theory and a possibility... not likely thoh.
