We are giving a Luau Honey do shower for my husband's friend! I love the idea of the invitation in the bottle! But I'm trying to find bottles that will work and can be mailed without other packaging and that aren't massively expensive! We are inviting about 45 couples, so it will be a costly thing!
but since I love the idea, I want it still!
So where do I get these bottles, and has anyone done this before and mailed the bottles (without other packaging)?? How did it work? What was the shipping cost? Did they leak or get damaged in mail?
any help is appreciated! Or if you have other creative suggestions, rather than the same old boring invitation?!

I am generally a VERY creative person, but since I am somewhat less than thrilled about giving this party, I think I have developed a mental block for creative thinking on this event!

Thanks in advance!

Try Specialty Bottle. My sister n' law used some for favors to my brother's 40th birthday party. She filled them with colored popcorn and made a label with my brother's picture (from when he was a baby) and wrote "Look Who's Still Popping". Unfortunately they were favors and not mailed but they also sell boxes for them.

Why not use water bottles.
Take the labels off. Put in a little colored sand. stick in rolled up invitation. Put a label on bottle that you made up on computer.
Hand deliver the bottles ( or hire someone to ) rather than mailing them.

the only thing i can think of would be a craft store like hobby lobby if you mail order the bottles than you have the price of the bottles & shipping cost it might be cheaper just to go to the store

These are 69 cents each if you order less than 70. So about 8.30 ish a dozen.

www.orientaltrading.com
I'm not sure if you have to mail these in another package or not, but they're cheap. 14.95 per dozen.
