Because almost invariably, I hear that the "false Christians" are "coincidentally" those who cause the most embarassment for the religion and for the other "true" adherents.

So... what exactly IS a "false" Christian? EXACTLY?

Yes & no.

To me, a "false Christian" is someone who claims to be one of God's children, yet seems to want to sin on purpose. For example, there has to be a person you know that acts really "goody two shoes" in front of everyone at church, they tell everyone that drinking is bad/that they never do it, but then on the weekend they drink until they're so intoxicated they can't stand up and then the next morning go to church to keep up with their good appearance.

And yes, they do make the religion look bad, but then there are also those Christians that are really are good people at heart, but promote God in the wrong way. They're the ones that will say "Well, if you don't believe in God, then you're going to hell." (Even though it is true!) And then they become overbearingly annoying because they feel the need to push God down peoples' throats. I feel that those people make the Christians in this world look worse than the false ones because everyone makes mistakes, but it's worse to have someone try to force you do believe/do something you don't want to.

False Christians can fall into several categories:

1. There are those who are either hypocrits (which, by the way, is the ONLY sin ever condemmed by Jesus)

2, There are those who are "accusers of their brethern" (of such things as being false chrisitians--grin).

3. There are also those who do not attend to needs of "the least of their brethern".

4. There are those who do not believe that Christ will either come only physically--or only spiritually, but not both. These are the true anti-christs.

As a postscript, it appears that it would help if you were to take a slightly different approach to your assumption that just because a fallible human 'errors' that this somehow proves and/or demonstrates that the foundation beliefs upon which he lives (or doesn't live) his life are somehow false.

I would suggest that this a convenient illusion or excuse for doing or not doing something in your own life--relying upon a 'sign' from another human that the philosophy behind the man is true or false.

What you and everyone is actually observing are the thoughts, actions, behavior, etc., of (a) man.

I recommend that you separate "doctrine" from "the people" as these are TWO separate issues. People will more often than not "disappoint" more often than not.

Regards,

A better word for them would be "false converts" and Jesus talked about them in the Bible with the parable of the "Sower and the Seed". You basically have those that hear the gospel, but because their hearts are hardened it does nothing. Then there are those who hear the gospel, receive it with gladness, and they grow super fast, but because their soil is shallow it cannot take root, so when the sunlight of persecution temptation and tribulation come they whither away. The final false convert is the person who hears, and receives with gladness, and it does grow, but because they are so caught up with the thorns and things of this world, aka their sin and other things, the plant that grew gets chocked up and dies.

The last group I describes is probably the group that causes us the most pain, because they corrupt the church from within and can be in the church for years and years, and people will look at them as the typical example of a christian, but still see their sinful lifestyle and think that all is okay. When they finally fall away they are usually the so called "ex-Christians" who are the most vocal against Christianity.

There may b soo many answers to this one question. to me a false christian is one who does not walk with the lord in thier hearts. A person who starts trouble within the church like talking about ppl, judging people, basically focusing on negatives when their focus should be on God. This is within the church, outside of church, a false christian is just down right nasty person. Maybe some one who has bad ways like being jealous, committing adultery, lying, having bad intentions, being cruel to family, friends, and others.....how can someone go to church ALL the time or say that they have accepted Christ, and not try to improve their bad ways or wrong doings and have NO remorse what-so-ever about what they have done? That to me is a false christian.

It will be for God to decide who they really are.

A false Christian is someone who says they are a Christian but are not, they got some other agenda of their own and it has nothing to do with God. But keep in mind some of the false Christians will be the ones pointing their fingers at other Christians (which will give you a "first clue") and saying you make me look bad.

You will know a true christian by there fruits.Just cuz someone says there a christian doesn't necessarily mean they are.Allot of people don't even know the real definition of a christian, there is a big difference between a christian and religion. A Christian is someone who seeks the things of God and someone that is religious walks the walk but has know concept of the meaning of a relationship with God.

False Christians are those who do not live moral lives. False Christians support homosexuality, as well as alternative lifesyles. True Christians follow the word of God, not what society says we should follow. Most people get the two mixed up. They call the false christians the true christians and vice versa.

Ok to me a false Christian is someone who preaches good and bad right and wrong and all that and doesn't follow it them self basically a hypocrite! another would be a Sunday Christian and everyone knows someone like that they go to church on Sunday and do the whole repent thing and then do it all over again during the week. The phrase do as I say not as I do doesn't really work!

False Christians mean someone who does not recognize Jesus as the son of God.
Also, a christian who follows heresy.
Example, many Christians would say the Westboro baptist church is not a true christian church because it teaches false doctrine.
Specifically that God hates gay people.
They coincidentally believe in 1/5 Calvinism, that God did not come to save everybody.
Not all christian churches believe God saves everybody.
God Bless

Apparently.
Any time something is pointed out about a christian who trolls or sends hate emails etc, there are invariably a bunch of "true christians" posting to point out that that person is not a true christian...
I think you just saw the same Q I did and had the exact same thoughts...
Peace
