Does anyone know what the term "I want to get blue" means?

I'm so confused..

"I want to get blue" would presumably mean "I'd like to get depressed" or "unhappy," but why would anybody SAY that?
Without more context, it's awfully hard to remove your confusion--it just spreads to us!

'blues' is sadness or depression or confusion.
