Yes, we don't like it at all! But I do understand economics - if the Angels can really get a lot more TV money claiming to be from LA, then by all means, call them the LA Angels of Anaheim. Hey, it let's us keep a world class baseball team!

As for the comment of "S" that the OC is simply a suburb of LA, this shows a complete lack of understanding of how different (for better or worse) the culture is down here from LA. They don't call it the 'Orange Curtain' for nothing!

wow I can't believe that so many people are hung up on the fact you misspelled Anaheim. Who cares? they all still knew what you meant but instead of answering the question just ridiculed your spelling.

Most people in Orange County hate being associated with LA even though they are part of the same metroplitan area and the only thing that seperates them is some imaginary line. I can't believe how people in OC like to think they are not part of the LA Metrpolitan area; it's like saying Oakland isn't part of the SF Bay Area. And if it wasn't for Los Angeles Orange County wouldn't even exist and would still be orange groves and farms. Orange County is basically a suburb of LA whether people there want to admit or not. What Long Island is to NYC, Orange County is to LA. People in OC live in there own little world, or at least pretend to. And it's funny that other poster who said her sports teams are not from LA, I hope she isn't an Angels fan b/c they are from LA originally; played at Dodger Stadium in the early days.

The difference between LA and OC is the same difference of any wealthy suburban area to it's central city in any other part of the US. I wouldn't exactly call tract homes that all look the same, 20 lane freeways, and endless strip malls culture either. There is no physical or geographical barrier that seperates LA County from Orange County, just a imaginary line and a state of mind.

All of we Orange County residents get tired of having people say we are in LA. I'm not an LA hater or anything, but Orange County and LA are two totally different areas. I'm not from LA and neither are my sports teams.

When I'm trying to explain to non-Californians where I live, I usually just say "Disneyland" -- that, they get. I've also found that people from from out of the area seem to know "Newport Beach". Must be the OC show (never mind that they actually film in PV).

Not as annoyed as when people can't spell Anaheim.

Only "outsiders" confuse LA with Anaheim. And we don't care about them.

Hopefully people from Anaheim can spell better than you. Personally i'm from Northern CA and think everything in LA and inland orange county is a cesspool.
