Joy and Kevin Wilson are a Christian married couple who decided that their ministry to other Christian married couples would be selling them sex toys in a way that makes them comfortable. Their store is called "Book 22." This is absolutely NOT a hoax! You can read an interview with Joy (w/ link to the site) here:

http://sexuality.about.com/od/sextoys/a/joy_wilson.htm

From the site:

"The twenty-second book of the Bible is Song of Solomon. We believe that God intended that such love, as spoken of in Song of Solomon, be a beautiful and normal part of marital life. Unfortunately this gift from God has been grossly distorted and abused by both ancient and modern people. Book22 is offering quality products to enhance the intimate life of God's children. Our hope is that our products will serve as intimacy enhancers for your marriage."

I couldn't visit this at my work and I figured others couldn't either, but I couldn't wait to read the link and ask your opinions here!

Is this like finding out your parents had sex when you were older in high school and is odd to you.

My wife and I have been married for 15 years and make it a point to have fun with each other. It does not defile the bed of a married couple unless a extra person is involved. For we are not to be part of any orgies. I have to say that my wife and I take pleasure in spicing up our sex life. I have never felt wrong about pleasing my wife.

If you feel it is wrong then don't and if you feel it is good to please each other inside of marriage then do it. That is why God gave us the Holy Spirit, to convict and direct.

I love the Lord and I love my wife.

Christian Sex Toy Store

Book 22 sold to Covenant Spice a few years ago. Last I checked Joy is now a therapist.

I read through the comments in this post and loved all of them. I'm a pastor and I run a website (www.intimatechristians.net) where I'm hoping to dispel some of the nonsense many Christians have been told about sex, intimacy and even sex toys. I also connected with a sex toy affiliate company so Christians can feel free to explore all kinds of sex toys (www.intimatechristians.com).

When you get down to it, sex is a gift from God and His intention was for us to fully enjoy sex within marriage. The Bible makes no mention of sex toys (obviously), but it does have plenty to say about who should be having sex; married couples.

There's certainly nothing wrong with Christian's using sex toys so long as the couple doesn't become controlled by them. Sex toys should not be used unless both spouses agree to use them and boundaries are set and followed.

I give Joy and Kevin a lot of credit for having opened an online Christian sex toy shop; I think it's great. What I didn't particularly like; however, was how they chose which toys were allowed and which were not. In my store we have not edited out any toys whatsoever. Who are we to judge what a couple wants to do? All we can do is educate and provide a resource.

Blessings,

Pastor E.

my non-christian spouse read the article with me. these kinds of products are like the Surprise Dinner party stuff that was also 'lame'

we also looked at

http://www.book22.com/merchant2/

it seems lame, generic and first question was,

"so this lady slogs through all the porn, all the images and searches out what is acceptable for others, making herself a guru (ok for her) and then peddles her wares of what she finds acceptable?"

typical!

you can christianize anything, and they have

thanks for the interesting link

I am going to open up a christian BDSM shop, with out all the gore or iron maidens, and pain and stuff as god intended his children to sinfully enjoy together

Best if you found a store locally to look at the toys. I have ordered from california exotics the company that sells the rabbit. Very quick shipping and discreet i thought it was a shirt i ordered LOL. make sure you can physically call the company prior to ordering to make sure they are legit.

Good luck to them. It's not like Christians don't like the occasional bonk now and then.

It would just worry me if most of the toys were sold to the unmarried vicars etc. lol.

I don't see why christians would have a problem with it. They're promoting it to married couples. What's the big deal? Toys can be fun.

Oh gosh, I better not react to this. I have so many ideas of how a Christian sex shop would look like.

The opportunities the objects in Bible give me to invent funny toys! Oh my, make my brain stop! Ack!

It is just a sex shop (which there is nothing wrong with) nothing more. But the fact that it uses "christianity " as a marketing tool is sick. They cannot verify people are married, they cannot hold value standards to their clients.

They are a XXX adult shop nothing more.
