Ok you all First Micheal Waltrip didn't just up and leave DEI Teresa let him go.

Second Jeff Gordon is a good driver but so is Dale Jr. the main difference is History- family history.

If you look at the film and photos Nascar shows Jeff learned a lot from Dale Sr. as did Jr. . Dale Sr. raced for RCR not DEI so the equipment is different. Jr. will win some races this season. He was running very well at Dover until he had tire problems. I am a Dale Jr. fan and was a fan of his father. I am getting a new respect for Jeff Gordon. I think you all need to quit trying to input a rivalry between these two talented men when its just the fans who hate each other.

Man, I'll tell you about Waltrip. He is overrated just like his old teammate. they dominated the restrictor plate tracks there for a while, but if you look at the past history of restirctor plate racing, there has always been a team that has dominated. And look at the some of the one-time winners because a lot of them came at restrictor plate tracks. But at least Jr has victories at different kind of tracks. He's basically won on every type track there is except for a road course. But he still does not deserve all the publicity he gets. If someone deserves it, it is Gordon. he is the best driver in the sport. he has done more than any other driver and he is contiunueing to surpass other drivers. A few years ago I wrote into nascar illustrated and they published my views and one of the points I made was that a lot of people only like Jr because of his name and his sponsor. And the majority of the people you see out there who say they are a Jr fan have never watched an entire race before, if they have even seen one at all. And with that point I can't wait to see if Jr gets a new sponsor, word on the street is Visa is working hard to get him. I would love to see how many people out there sport Visa shirts and hats. This will be a true test to those so called fans.

I can't speak for all Jr fans but I don't hate Gordon. Gordon is a hell of a driver. The problem with Jr is the fact DEI engines suck. Yea, Mark won a race this weekend but it won't last. If you were to put Jr in Hendr or Gibbs racing he would fare better. I'm not saying he would be the best, just better. DEI is really just a two man team because the only threat Paul is to anyone is himself. At this moment Gordon is the man.

Why doesn't Junior win as many races as Gordon? Simple...Gordon has everything handed to him, and cheats on top of it. And what's up with bashing the Waltrips? I hear a lot of people bashing DW, saying he's an old windbag. He was a racer; he knows what he's talking about.

Jr fans put down Jeff fans and vice versa. Its all in good fun which makes NASCAR so interesting. Its only when it get personal that someone (like me) have to back out and look to see who the good fans are. Its not like football, baseball, soccer, etc where theres one team against another. With NASCAR, its your team against 42 others and 3 of them might help your driver. As for M Waltrip, He suxs but every poker player gets dealt a bad hand.

Alot of the rivalty between fans of Junior and Gordon is spurred on by the media. Both are competant drivers and are able to hold their own.But with Bud being the number 1 reconized advertised product in the world(the Clydsdale teams, the Junior commercials, and their sponts on internarional sports) makes them(BUD) attractive to the younger crowd so inturn they pull for a sponsor. The true driving fan pull for the ability of the driver.
Well as for Mikey his ability as a driver keeps him "ROLLING'.

i think after Dale Sr. died and Jr. already had a bunch of fans because of his father and grandfather, all the Dale Sr. fans had nowhere to go but to Jr. Jr. was pretty good but the only one to beat him was usually Jeff Gordon. So most of the NASCAR population are Jr. fans, so they hate Jeff bacause Jr. cant win around.

and Michael Waltrip leaving DEI is the dumbest thing since Michael Jackson got plastic surjery and bleached his skin. going to toyota when you cant even do well with a dodge made it worse. Dodge was probably sayin when M.W. left, "YES!!!!!"

You seem to be confusing wins and Titles with reasons people don't like Jeff.

Shoot, I didn't like him before he ever ran a Cup lap.

It seems my first impression was correct, as he's never done anything on the track to change my mind.

I just happen to dislike him a lot more after 16 plus years of the same attitude.

I'm not talking about his TV interviews because his in-car radio transmissions tell it all, when it comes to his attitude.

You have to understand that Earnhardt fans go to races to watch THEM race. It doesn't matter if they were or are racing for 20th or 1st, as that is where the action was and usually is. If the wins come, fine. Just watching an Earnhardt race is equal to all the history of NASCAR.

That history won't end with Junior; we may never see the end of the Earnhardt run.

Soak up all the Gordon glory you can, the clock is ticking.

As far as Michael Waltrip, after a god awful winless streak of 100's, Senior told him he thought he was good enough to win races. Senior hired him and lo and behold, Mikey became a Daytona 500 winner. Just like Jeff Gordon.

Hey, if Mikey can do it, how hard could it be....right!

And always remember, Earnhardt fans are just passing along the tradition. We caught the crap for years and until Gordon came along we were all having a blast with being despised.

You Gordon fans just don't understand tradition.

I suggest you quit listening to his radio as you are all beginning to sound just like him.

Jr. is not over rated. He is just the most popular! Pretty simple.

Example: I'm a St. Louis Blues hockey fan yet they've NEVER won a Stanley Cup. Are you suggesting I should be a fan of the best team in the NHL?
