I want to elope, but I don't know where to begin. I live in the U.S., and I'd like to elope to Europe. I don't really know where exactly, because I've never been there! Lol. I am NOT an island girl, and I do not want a beach wedding!!! I want to get married in December, and I love snow so it would be perfect if I could find a location that's snowy in December. The wedding will be for just me and my fiance, but we want both a ceremony and a reception (Lol, basically a glorified dinner for two) for the two of us. I'm thinking of a beautiful castle or a romantic estate, but I have no idea where to begin. Please help!!! Thanks so much.

P.S. Please do not send me to other sites or tell me to Google something.

Dear Christmas Bride,

I think I can help you get want you want. I have extensive experience in tourism and planning weddings in Italy. There are so many beautiful estates, castles, etc., that we can find one of your dreams. And as another respondent said, Italy, from a logistical standpoint, is the easiest European country for foreigners to marry in (no residency requirements, no waiting period, just some documents to file that need to be properly in order).

I'm not going to list a bunch of sites for you to check out here because you've asked not to be sent to other sites; however, if you would like to know more about some of the places you could have your dream wedding, please contact me. I'm happy to share with you ideas so that we can find exactly the right place for this special day. Obviously if you are looking for snow, northern Italy has plenty of it but so do spots all over the country -- due to its mountainous nature, Italy gets snow from Sicily to the Swiss border!

Congratulations on your wedding plans -- hope to hear from you!!

I think ireland is gorgeous. You could get married at the chapel of the roses (where the old prime meridian used to be...lol see Davinci code) or St. Brides is really famous because it is shaped like a wedding cake (not in Ireland but two other choices I would consider). I love St. Brides church or something with alot of the gothic revival architecture, lots of arches.

We modified our snowy wedding plans because we were afraid of having travel problems if we didn't.

How about the IceHotel--there's one in Sweden and one in Quebec, Canada...the whole place is made of ice, and they have a chapel where they perform weddings! It would be perfect fro what you describe, and there's sure to be ice! You'd probably need to make reservations very soon, though, if that's your idea! Good luck...and yes, you will have to look that up online, but my fiance was there a few years ago,a nd he said it was amazing!

Why not look at other sites? How better to get info on your chosen wedding location?

For example, the site above states, "Italy has the simplest legal requirements for international couples wanting to be married in a civil ceremony."

I know you don't want to get sent to other sites, but this is about Switzerland... to me it sounds like everything you want!
