The Hungarian AMD65 is a very neat looking gun. I would rate it around 9 the only reason it isn't a 10 is because the barrel is pretty short and needs a muzzle device welded on to make it meet minimum length requirements without registering it as a short barreled rifle.

The Romanians made a ton of variants for military and commercial use. The SAR and WASR series I would rate at 7-8. A lot of SAR 1, 2 and 3 rifles had trigger slap which requires some modification to the disconnector to correct. Both series also had some individual rifles with canted sights and gas blocks. The later WASR series also had some guns that were modified after importation to open up the mag well to accept high capacity magazines which then caused some wobble in the magazines.

German are supposed to be very good but I have not used one so I can't rate it .

I will add Polish to the list, and their AKMS and ak74 Tantal were both outstanding, both easily are a 9. However most came in as parts kit form and needed a receiver and assembly work. I don't recall if any major company assembled them and distributed them.

Chinese I also cannot speak for.

The Yugo M70 AKs were also prettyy good. A lot of the parts that came in had terrible bores that were pitted from corrosive ammo. When Century arms built them a good number had new barrrels put on, provided that the model in question has a good bore I would rate it between 8-9.

Some Egyptian models also were imported, but I never heard anything good about them. I never shot one but have looked at them and the quality of the metal work was not quite as good as I would like. I would rate those as 6-7.

Bulgarian are supposed to be the best there is. These deserve a 10. The price reflects this too.

There is no such thing as a worst AK. Krauts make a primo model, i prefer a Romanian myself; but there just are not any worst made. Even the Egyptian model shoots up a storm and is reliable.
