Don't screw around with this. Talk to your doctor immediately. If you have had an infection started by your surgery it could be dangerous to your hearing. It sounds like the doctor already has you on an antibiotic but let him know what is going on even if its just a phone conversation. People actually go deaf from ear infections so its a serious thing.;

The comment about consulting your surgeon is the best advice. It could be the start of an infection and therefore need to be treated appropriately.
The other option is that the swelling from the surgery has caused your eustachian tubes to be blocked preventing you from equilibrating the pressure in your ear. Kind of like going on an airplane but not being able to 'pop' your ears. Unfortunately, decongestant won't be vary effective because of the source of swelling. Ibuprophen (motrin, advil...) might help but contrary to popular belief these can have serious side effects so consult your surgeon before taking them, especially if you're already taking other meds.
The last posibility is a refered pain from the surgical site. It is quite common for pains felt in the throat, neck and jaw to radiate to the ear. Some ppl actually only feel the ear pain and not the actual source. In this case it would be best treated with proper analgesics (possibly narcotics). This call would be to your surgeon or if not available, another physician.

Hope this helps.

decongestants like sudafed. They will reopen the eustacean tubes and allow the fluid to drain from the ear. This will take the pressure out.
