If is wife is having a baby that day, yes he will. Jeffy said so. Mark Martin already agreed to drive #24 if it happens.

I never knew people would react like that to these news. But yes, Gordon's baby will be born soon, so he might miss a race, and Mark Martin would fill in and get more points to help him become the first part-time driver to ever get in the Chase.(That would be insane by the way)
Even if he misses a race, it won't matter much, he might not even lose his lead in the standings.
And of course, I doubt that Gordon would start the race just to get the points, family comes first, and that's something that everyone can understand.

He will if the baby comes at a time that he would be racing. If its a Wednesday probably not...
I respect him for being with his wife for the birth of their child, that's where a dad should be, good to see he has his values straight. Also that kick-butt points lead he has allows him plenty of flexibility if he needs to miss a week.

He will likely sit out to be with his wife Ingrid and new baby. My main man Mark will be there if need be. I personally hope he gets to be there and takes off one weekend. Mark is excellent on road courses and Jeff always has a good setup for the road course. Mark is an excellent replacement if not the best replacement if necessary. Jeff knows this and thats why he was the first they asked.

I know he would hate to miss a race but he's not about to miss the birth of his first child. Let's just hope the little girl knows how much racing means to her Daddy, and will wait to born in the middle of the week. That's going to be one spoiled little girl. Jeff will make a great dad. I think he'll be the kind of dad that when she goes on her first date he'll open the door with a stearn look on his face and the question, "What do you want with my little girl?"

If Jeff's Wife goes into labor during a race weekend; Mark Martin will be subbing for him.
Yeah it is great; because it shows that he values his Family more then anything else. It is nice to see a Driver with a right set of priorities.

Yeah he may because his baby is being born during the race season. Like any responsible father he wants to be there when his baby is born. He has made plans and if he does miss, then Mark Martin will step in for him.
A real man would plan to be there for his wife and new child. Sounds like Jeff is a real man. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Theres a good chance he will. But he will most likely still be in the points lead even with missing a race.

Too bad it wasn't because he was caught cheating! But if he were to miss a race, it's because his baby's being born, which is respectable, even for Gordon.
