There have been several mining company owned railroads around the US, and some incredible others outside the US.

One that I would like to see in operation is one found in Australia, but I need help on this one. Does anybody know which one I am speaking of?

They run their ore trains for a distance somewhere near 1,000 miles inland, flat as a tabletop, at 23,000 metric tons with EMD locomotives. They may be running them even heavier now with improved technology.

I think the one in Australia is the BHP Billiton company. There have been recent articles in Trains Magazine about the new ES44 locomotives they ordered from General Electric.
