I've had a Senegal parrot for about a month, she's 6 months old and she won't stop screaming. Everything that I"ve read says don't pay attention to her when she screams, but she is ALWAYS screaming. It also says reward her when she's not screaming but she starts screaming whenever she sees me, so she's never not screaming. It seems she's happy and that's why but either way, I'm at a loss and she's making my home miserable. What can I do?

She isn't afraid of anyone. She gets right on my finger, or anyone's finger when they put their hand in the cage. She snuggles and lets you pet her. She never ever bites. When you put a towel over her cage she continues to scream. I can't reward her when she's not screaming, because she always is.

How often do you play with her? Try a bird playpen on top of her cage. Leave her door open so that she can climb out and go up there, when you are home of course.
Be sure to have her wings clipped so that she cannot fly onto a ceiling fan or onto high places.
You can also turn on some music and NEVER let anyone yell at her.

Maybe put a towel or cloth over the cage so she will think it's night time and stop the screaming.

You must have an adult...and I am very sure it is scared to death...Put a towel or blanket over it...that will help...I'm sure its not hand fed or you wouldn't do this...Its gonna take a long time and alot of patience from you...
and be careful of it biting you..don't give up..they can be very nice birds once it calms down..good luck.
