I just had laser eye correction done yesterday, but I can't see just yet, it's still fuzzy, I was wondering if anyone with experience has gotten it done and how long it took you to start seeing perfectly.

I was about 20/250 before Lasik surgery last year. The procedure was painless, probably due to the Valium they gave me. The ride home (as a passenger, of course) was fairly uncomfortable, mainly due to light sensitivity. The doctor gave me dark goggles, but the light was still too bright. I slept fine that night. Woke up the next morning, and I COULD SEE FINE! Hallelujah! I was jazzed up about that. I drove myself to my one day check up (an 2 hour round trip) with no problems. For that check up, I was seeing at 20/25, less than 24 hours after the surgery. I went to work that afternoon (doing ultrasound which really requires you to use your eyes). For my one week check up, I was seeing between 20/20 and 20/15. I would do it again in a heartbeat! No more glasses, no more contacts, no more cleaning solutions and saline!

I had the surgery almost 7 weeks ago. I could see well enough to function several hours after the surgery (and a nap). My vision was 20/25 at the follow up the next day. Your vision will fluctuate for several weeks, as your eyes heal. I actually joked with my surgeon that my right eye was good on even number days, and the left was better on odd number ones.

You should have had a follow up check today, where the Doctor can check to make sure that everything with the corneal flap is in place correctly. It will take a bit of time for your eyes to settle, but it is well worth it.

At my last follow up, I was 20/20, which is the best I have ever seen in my life!!

No. I had lasiks final yr. They placed numbing drops within the eye approximately five mins earlier than surgical procedure. The surgical tech eye drew a dot on each and every of my eyes and I didnt even consider that. After surgical procedure the whole lot used to be cloudy and grayish watching (they advised me could occur) and my eyes felt a little bit sore. Like any person had sprayed pepper in my eyes. Not sufficient to make me cry however simply sufficient that my eyes felt sore and I desired to hold them closed, which I did for the relaxation of the day. And how I see 20/15 (BETTER than 20/20 imaginative and prescient)!

My wife had it done about 7 years ago. She had fuzzy vision for a day or two but noticed it clearing considerably by the second day. Within 2-3 days her vision was almost 20/20 after being almost blind all of her life with nearsightedness of -800 and -825 in her two eyes.
Don't be impatient, it will clear up fast enough and you will enjoy your newfound vision.

I could see perfectly immediately...although my eyes teared a lot until the next morning but my sight was 20/20!! Yeah! No more glasses!! Anyway, I'd check with the doctor if you aren't seeing clearly.

i had prk but did tons of research & was originally scheduled for lasik.... lasik should be very good immediatly but can vary from good to bad over several days. you should be able to drive & work at 3 days out & should see great by 10 days out or often sooner. pain should be minimal but discomfort is common first 3 days.....prk can take up to 1 year to see perfect, it is slower healing process & each person is different, still you should be able to drive & work by 5 days out & first 3 days are often painful & blurry... i was lucky with zero pain & now at 4 weeks out i see fabulous although sometimes dry eyes & vision does get blurry under unusual circumstances like staring at computer for hours but eyedrops always clear vision right away..... use TONS & TONS of EYEDROPS in the beginning regardless of type of surgery and take all drops and meds as directed - this is best bet for fastest healing and least amount of discomfort... good luck

I did. And you should NOT be using the computer. Your doctor should have told you not to watch tv or use the computer for a few days. Keep your eyes closed as much as possible. The entire day of surgery I kept my eyes closed. The next day I still kept my eyes closed as much as possible and didnt watch tv for days. STOP USING THE COMPUTER RIGHT NOW.
