I wouldn't advise it. Try getting your budgie another budgie companion. A cockatiel can be very aggressive and hurt your budgie, so get another budgie or two. Also, I wouldn't advise putting finches or canaries because the budgie may get very territorial with them as well.

NO the cage is not big enough for Cocaktiels as well, not only that , Cockatiels and Budgies DO NOT get on to get her in cages sometimes not even in an Aviary, both are very bad mixures together, the Budgies even though smaller could take the toes off the Cockatiels when in a fighting mood,in breeding season you will have more fights than you could imagine. Contrary to what one has said they Do Not even get on in the Wild.

I personally have put a parakeet in with a cockatiel in the past.... And have done it recently too. My cockatiels dont bother my budgie at all. They ignore him and the parakeet doesnt even notice they are aound. I do feed them their own food tho. I dont give the parakeet cockatiel feed or vice-versa. BUt if you really dont want to then dont... It would be better to buy another cage. Doing so tho may make it to where your parakeet may not be as happy and chatty if you put him/her in with the 'tiel. Then it may never want to come out. But its all up to you. I have before and he's still in there with the 'tiel's

Cockatiels cant be kept in the same cage as budgies since they have different food requirements.Only keep him with other budgies. Cockatiels however caan be kept with lovebirds, parrotlets andGREEN CHEEKED conures. Lovebirds , parrotlets and Green cheeks can all eat cockatiel food.

NO WAY can you put a Budgie and a cockatiel together...and it is the budgies cage...they are not nice to other birds..in fact they are nasty...I"m sure your budgie by itself is a sweetie...but you bring in another bird and forget it, you will have a WAR

when i got my first cockatiel i had parakeets already.they would come out and interact with each other during the day(watch the keets tho, they like to sneak up and bite the tiels feet at first)eventually they all wanted to be together in the same cage so we let them.my son built a very large cage for them all.Just don't put English parakeets with tiels.they can be extremely fierce and mean to the tiels and have been known to kill them.one of my keets and tiels even became bonded buddies.Just take time to let them get to know each other with your supervision.

budgies like to play and i think teils are a more serious bird and that could lead to a fight but if u must put them together have a very large cage to allow for personal space for both birds
