Why don't we request that all male illegal's over 18 can earn citizenship by fighting in Iraq?

We could take care of two problems at once.

If illegal immigrants want to be American's so bad, let them see first hand how this country has given the World democracy and how hard he have fought for our freedoms. Let them earn citizenship by fighting along side of us. Let them shed their blood for something they believe in.

This would also cancel any planned drafts.

Troops could come home and see their families and babies and give them some needed rest in thier rotations.

If they come back alive when the war ends - "BAM" Instant American Citizen

Do you know your history at all. Mexicans do fight in the war. Are there only "white" people in the war. There have been Mexicans fighting along side of Americans in all the wars even in world war I. Do they get credit, no.

It wouldn't change things, the government wouldn't be so easy to give up a Citizenship just for fighting a war. You know how many have faught and never were or have been granted Citizenship. This is ridiculous! Mexicans who faught in the war were later deported after the Great Depression due to the Repatriation Act of President Hoover. Even the American Citizen Mexicans who were born here were illegally deported!

Just because a person fights in a war trust me, doesn't mean the government will grant them Citizenship. This gives the people too much power especially the power to vote. You think the government wants millions of Mexicans voting. NO!

Look up how many Mexicans have attained citizenship through serving in the military. Many of my family memebers have served by being legal residents. It is a process to become a Citizen so they have to wait, so they have faught in wars and they did not get their Citizenship not did they get the benefits of being a soldier. No money, pensions or school benefits... nothing.

So no, throwing them all in the military is the mentality of slavery. As the military once used the African Americans in the front lines to be killed first. That is the mentallity we need to get past and ensure we are all treated with dignity.

So if they died in the war, thanks for taking our husbands place and you won't be missed right? "Bam" you're dead sorry no Citizenship.

I some what agree but this isnt the 1900's whats good for a man is in most cases good for a woman. If the men have to go to war then so shouldd the women. By the way, no I am not a man, I am a woman. Us women say we want womens libs and want to be treated equal well dont stop when it comes to war, women should have to go to the war to obtain citizenship and EVERYONE should still have to go through the process that they do now to get LEGAL!!!!

We could request it but we won't get any takers with the illegals,they are not going to fight for the USA,they are only going to get anything for nothing that they can beg borrow or steal.

How bout you give then papers first, then you can sent then out? You cant expect someone to fight for another country doesn't even want then. I mean obviously if you were to send then first they run the big risk of dyeing, and to top it off they would die for nothing cause they didn't gain nothing for there loved once.

I like my idea better first papers then yes sure why not if that what makes you happy.

US Army already has this process. When enlisting they would get green cards and when tour is over they get citizenships. didn't understand is the illegals would be fighting to become legal citizens. and fighting for their family to become legal citizens. not fighting for gringos. common sense.

but anyways it wouldn't work because the government would have to do a mass English class before sending them out to Iraq. it would take to long. and who's to say they'd listen to their commanders...i doubt they would.

but if it was do-able i'm all for it.

I think that's probably a pretty good idea. It wouldn't work because most of the immigrants don't speak english very well. Plus, they may be susceptible to the tactics terrorists use to reign in their followers. Remember Jose Padilla? He was hispanic turned Islamic terrorist.
