I think is because you know you will not be on earth anymore, and you wont see your loved ones.

But the big question is, are we ready to face death, are we at peace with God, family, and neighbors? Are we ready to see God face to face?

Well, this are my concerns! :)

Good question though!

I am going to assume you are talking in the death of a second party, not your own. You know it is coming and yet you hold out a glimmer of hope that maybe there will be some kind of miracle take place or perhaps the doctors were wrong and it is not going to happen. You try to be cheerful and bolster up the spirits of the person who is dying and in doing so perhaps you are kidding yourself into thinking it won't be quite so soon. If you are at all close to the person I know of no way that you won't be stunned. I guess it is the realization or the finality of the fact that someone very close to you is gone.

i don't know. I guess when you know ur gonna die, like a few 4 months ahead of time, you have time to do all the things you've wanted to do, and I don't know, some people are readdy to die, some people have a little problem ecepting death, I would like to be diagnosed with Diabetes, or cancer, so i know that there is a chance i might die, you just need to see the bright side, you will beout of pain, and in the big all night/ day party in the sky.

Things that's cause death are usually dangerous or painful. When you are stunned at that danger that's just your instincts and reflexes kicking in. You can be ready for death but you can't turn off you instincts.

That is maybe because we commomly think that death is natural to everyone. People live and die. We are not that scared of it but when the moments of our last breaths we realize that we can't take all our love ones with us and we can't be there or touch anything again. Life moves on without you. Your regrets will come up to your mind and if you are proud of all your actions in your life time...then you will smile when you leave this world!

your death or someone elses?
I dont think id be stunned if i was ready for my death and then i died.

But i think when its someone elses, even though you think you have prepared yourself for it there is a part of your mind that tells you its not going to happen or that you have longer. so i guess it comes as a shock as a result of our brain telling us that we thought we had longer with that person

its just part of grieving

Because death is permanent, and it's one of those things that you can't prepare for. You'll never know how you will react until the time comes. Kind of like when you go to buy ice cream and the store has run out of your favourite flavour.

I guess becuase most of us realized we havent lived our life
to the fullest as we hoped so now and then.
We wish we had time to do this
and regrets for not doing that
and the thought that you had this whole lifetime to
expierience and enjoy these things were undoubtly wasted away.
Maybe.
Thats what happens to most of us

I don't even know how you expect people to answer this question... Everyone is different. How many people expect to hear that they or their loved one is dying? My guess would be not many. We all walk around thinking we're immortal and I think when we find out we're not, it's just too much to handle. "It's not going to happen to me"... even though you're aware this is silly, you're still thinking it on a daily basis.
