Go look it up. Osiris, Horus, Tammuz, Attis and Mithras were all pagan gods long before jesus supposedly existed and all supposedly died and rose from the dead.
You can deny it all you want, it doesn't change the fact that your jesus story is unoriginal. In fact one of the many reasons why pagans couldn't stand christianity was because it was a blatant ripoff of pagan concepts repackaged as Jewish mysticism.
And for those of you who are going to say that the pagans stole the christian ideas: explain how the Ancient Egyptians could have stolen something that they came up with thousands of years before your god supposedly lived.

>> Osiris, Horus, Tammuz, Attis and Mithras were all pagan gods
Precisely, they were pagan gods with no plan for salvation. The God of the Hebrews is the true God, not a false god like those of the Egyptians, or the Greeks, or the Babylonians. If you think that "rising from the dead" exclusively makes one a god, how do you account for the Hebrew testimony of what Elijah did to the young boy in the Old Testament? What do you make of the resurrection of Lazarus, and the others resurrected while Jesus was alive? Are they also true gods according to your definition? The real reason the others are false is because they do not understand nor preach the method whereby salvation is received, through the shedding of blood. (Lev 17:11) This concept is thoroughly defined in the Hebrew Bible as a substitute for the sinner's sin, while your other so-called gods give no such sacrificial explanation. Further, you have provided no evidence that any of these "so-called" gods are direct ancestors of Jesus's testimony. What you have done however, is demonstrate your willingness to equate Jesus with other false gods, without a shred of evidence.
The fact is Jesus was born of a Hebrew woman, the others were not. Jesus was the sacrifice for sin, the others were not. Sacrifice is the act whereby another must pay the price through the shedding of their own blood, that the transgessor might be freed from the inevitable judgment of God. It is for this purpose that God, in the form of Jesus, died on a cross and rose again, to save humanity from its own sins. Jesus was prophesied as the sacrificial Messiah in the Old Testament of the Hebrews in Genesis 49:10-12. None of these other gods provide a credible system whereby sins are forgiven and thus, how one truly rises from the dead. In conclusion, they are not the true God because they are powerless to save us from death.

The reason there are so many "Gods" that have dies and rose again 3 days later is that all religions have based this off the fact of the winter solace. The "Son of God" dying and rising 3 days later is actually the SUN dipping below the horizon, staying there as if it were dead and rising 3 days later. This is from the time when people lived and died by their crops and when the SUN fell (died) it was the dark days of evil (DARK_EVIL Time also became the DEVIL). This is where all the 1000s of religions came from and why they all reference the same basic idea.
Christianity only became popular because of Constantine created it from myths and burned all the other religious books. Constantine created the New Testaments, there is no actual document from the early Christian times, the Church even admits this, go look it up.

It is natural for Christian to deny this because they want to believe that only their god exist and not the other gods. But fortunately for truth-seekers like us, history and the study of different mythology says that there are other gods that rose to the dead 1000 years ago before Jesus did the same feat.

Centuries before the time of Christ some ancient religions have annually celebrated the death and resurrection of Osiris, Tammuz, Attis, Mithra, and other gods. The Christians only borrowed the performance. One reference to this is in the Bible itself. Ezekiel the prophet referred to women whom he saw weeping for Tammuz at the gate of Jehovah's house (Ez. 8:14), an obvious reference to the springtime ritual of mourning the death of this pagan savior who, according to the myth that had fostered the religion, had later risen to life again.

Resurrection stories are popular because a resurrection story is a good way to convince people to believe in the power of a certain god-messiah.

So like your question, the best thing Christians will do is not to answer this inquiry or even mock you. It only show how irritated they are in this subject. Christians, of course, will dismiss the tales of these pagan saviors as mythology while adamantly insisting that it is rational to believe that the story of Jesus's resurrection is factual.

They can offer no reasonable explanation for their inconsistency, but until they do, skeptics will have to insist that they are worshiping a counterfeit savior.

And you don't need to read The DaVinci Code to prove a counterfeit Christ as Pastor Art sugested (hehehe!)

I am not in denial that other religion place belief in some deity which was said to have rose from the dead. I completely deny that there was proof that any of them did as there is with Jesus Christ. Non-believers saw Him. The evidence of His Ressurection can be found in many sources and by studying Roman, Jewish, and secular history for the time-period. This is not to mention all of the prophesies which Jesus fulfilled which was prophesied about Him hundreds of years before His birth. What pagan god (note the small "g") accomplished that? What other god has suffered to pay the price for your and my sins?

Maybe it is easier to believe in silly things if they do not to study the social and historical context.

I for one believe in Alexander the Great. He was supposedly the son of Zeus (in snake form, no less), and half from his mom. Sounds familiar....

P.S. pastorart. I do not know of any atheist or liberal who thinks the Da Vinci code is anything other than fiction. That is a misconception of those who oppose the film based on their religious views.

There is only one God who, always was, is, and is to come. (Revelation1:8) He sent His Son to save of from our sins so we could be with Him forever and ever. Man created all those other gods you talk about, but God was never created. All the other gods were never alive therefore they could not die and rise again. (Read 1 Kings 18:19-39 - a good one about false gods) That is what I believe. I hope that answers at least part of your question.

To be in denial means you are denying something which is obviously true.

It looks like we have someone else who believed the DaVinci Code.
