My brother is allergic to a protein in dog saliva and its pretty bad. if he gets it in his eye his eyes puff up and he could possibly go into shock which could possibly kill him. MY brother also has asthma. Along with that he is mildly Autistic so he wont move out of the house any time soon. Im 15 years old and i want a dog! He hasnt had a rection in a long time and i know you can grow out of it but im a little afraid to test it. I thought of a plan to keep the dog outside 24/7 so saliva dosent get tracked into the house. my mom dosent want to risk it though. Im trying to find a way to make this all work, so please help me or suggest somthing or if you had a similar problem please let me know of your progressions. I really want some feedback so any help would be appreciated! (P.S. We have a nice backyard, its big)

Tough luck doll. Dogs belong in the house not stuck in the backyard. When you move out in 3 years, get a dog.
I think it is pretty selfish for you to force an asthmatic, autistic boy to go through a possible severe maybe life threatening reaction so you can have a dog. The shots and medication don't always work either.

I would wait until you move out or he does because you wouldnt want to be left outside 24/7and it depends on where you live if you live in the country thats normal but not if you live in the city or suburbs thats a whole differnt story an since you dont want to risk your brothers health. Im 16 and want a dog but my stories alot differnt But before you think of getting a dog you had better do your homework and think of where its going to live when its outside
And depends on what kind of dog if its a newfy (what i already have) they are not the dog for you because they drool like crazy

Unfortunately dogs (and cats) lick themselves and get saliva protein all over their body. They also aren't the best in the house when it comes to oral hygiene.
I would suggest having your brother visit an allergist for skin tests. They will be able to identify what he develops reactions to. After this shots are given regularly to desensitize the immune system to these allergens.
It worked very well for me as I'm allergic to cats.

It's obvious you want a dog badly, but it isn't fair to your brother when his health could easily suffer because of it. Why don't you think about volunteering at an animal rescue organization or an animal shelter? You could walk the dogs and play with them, and they'd love the attention. Until you can safely have a dog of your own, volunteering to help animals in need would be a wonderful thing.

whell if he is allrgic ceep the dog at someone house that you go over everyday or just wait until your brother moves out the house

Well, instead of waiting until you move out, you could try total isolation (dog&&bro). If that doesnt work, try a cat :D
