I always count to 100 backwards and when I hiccup I start all over again. Another way is I get a good laugh by doing something stupid.

Hiccups are caused by the diaphragm contracting uncontrollably.

Breathe deeply and slowly. Keep doing it till you stop having the hiccups. Make sure your abdomen expands and contracts when you breathe. This puts your diaphragm back into balance.

Fix your eyes on a spot on the wall. Stare at it and breath slowly. Just keep staring at it. You will find yourself relaxing and the hiccups will stop.

This one has worked for our family for about 40 years.
Put a teaspoon full or a packet of sugar on your tongue, let it melt. Something about the sugar interrupts the hiccuping.

Drink water for 10 seconds not stopping or 10 drinks without stopping, breathing in a paper bag, having someone scare you, holding your breath for 10 seconds.

a shot of lime juice!!!! FOR REAL! This works, if you don't have lime juice just bite in to a piece of lime and suck the juice in. THEN hold your breath for 30-60 seconds and then breath normally. This should work!

try holding your breath or drinking water..sometimes that works.
