start off slow. you have all the time in the world to learn a song. play songs you listen to. but make sure it isn't too hard. eventually over time you will play harder and harder songs.

one more thing. you have to get all your fingers the same strength. usually your pinkey and ring fingers are the weakest and most uncordinated. do some excersises to build speed in those two fingers. to do this you should hold your first two fingers on frets and then repeatedly play a note holding both fingers down on the same string. then tap your other fingers down multiple times. do this until your fingers are strong.

practice all your chords too.

Fender has an excessively functional type of bass that is made generally for rookies and that is what I have. Its a Fender Squier and its a quality bass- it will get well tone, sound, the neck is a well dimension and convenient to play on, and over all its only a well fine guitar. I do not consider its that costly both...I obtained it for Christmas in a percent with the amp and stuff so I don't have any thought how so much it's. Hope that is helping and well good fortune! Bass guitar is soooo so much a laugh to play!

Get the sheet music each week to a song you enjoy and learn it. Advancing, buy music notation for a song you've never heard and then learn it. With both selections at the end of the week you should be able to play them in your own developed style.

An additional routine to develop is to take a song you already can play and use a different key signature for it. Branch out to the keys of Gb, Eb, Ab, Bb, Db, B for extra challenges.
