I am wanting to convert a quicktime movie file that I have videoed with my camera to an .avi file so that the file is compatible with my program to burn this to a dvd. What's the best program to use that is free?

quicktime pro will let you change the format to an AVI.
cost money but it's worth it cause you may edit easily and add music and all sorts of things with PRO
