I have a really slow metabolism and I want to speed it up, so how do I do that? Is it even possible?

If you stay active during the day like going for long walks , running, etc it should help speed it up.

Dominique had a great answer above but let me add to it a bit.

She said to make sure you eat every 2 to 3 hours.. that is important, but I am sure she also meant to make sure you are eating healthy every 2 to 3 hours. Ice cream and cheeseburgers don't count.. how about some raw vegetables or fruit.

Other than that the most effective way in my opinion is a regular sustained excise program. Changing your body or your metabolism is a life time commitment but not one that you should be afraid of, work hard and it will pay off and you will be happy to continue.

there are some what that are said to do that, here are some

-eat small (healthy, proportoned) meals 5-6 times a day
-when you walk/run sprint for 30sec-1 minute then walk for a few minutes, that will speed up your metabolism, by keeping you heart rate up

you have to eat small meals every 2-3 hours that way your body get enough calories when it needs them and doesnt have any extra left to store in fat reserves
more muscle=faster metabolism
exercise at least 4 times a week
drink at least 8 glasses of water a day

You can speed it up by never skipping breakfast because breakfast jumpstarts your metabolism everyday and by exercising.

exercising will help and also make sure you are eating every 2-3 hours, that will help keep your metabolism up.

be active everyday and eat 4-6 meals throughout day and drink lots of water. Build muscles
