What about the dead sea scrolls and that tomb. It's also getting me seriosly confused. The more I learn the more I know and on and on. Maybe jesus was just a myth, but one of the people who answered my question said about the tomb. It was quite fascinating but I guess no one can really prove that any god exists. What do you think?

Since the late 1980s, no controversy has been more heated than that surrounding access to the scrolls and the movement to accelerate their publication.About two thousand years elapsed between the time the scrolls were deposited in the caves of the barren hills surrounding the Dead Sea and their discovery in 1947. The fact that they survived for twenty centuries, that they were found accidentally by Bedouin shepherds, that they are the largest and oldest body of manuscripts relating to the Bible and to the time of Jesus of Nazareth make them a truly remarkable archaeological find.

The Dead Sea Scrolls have been the subject of avid interest and curiosity for nearly fifty years. Today, scholars agree on their significance but disagree on who produced them..

So their will always be a question that makes you seek out the answers..Once you discover and understand one thing questions will pop up about the next..

Many people can argue and fight about God and proof that he is here..

If you limit your understanding of God to your finite and limited mind...then you will have trouble. But open yourself up to the possibility of God and you'll begin to get more and more understanding. The limits of your mind confine you.

The whole tomb thing was totally blown away, it was pure sensationalism and even non-believers agreed.

If you really use your deductive reasoning and common sense...believe it or not you can come to the conviction that Jesus is real...and he is the son of God...and he rose from the dead.

A good book to read is Who Moved the Stone. It's a book written by a man who set out to prove that the resurrection never happened. In doing so...he came to the realization that it did.

As far as the historical Jesus' existence...that is not in question. Scholars and historians agree that Jesus was truly a person. They part ways on his divinity.

proof God exists is everywhere....go stand at the ocean during a storm and tell me you don't feel the power of God in his creation! "I have made the earth the man and the beast that are on the ground by my great power!"

the dead sea scrolls confirm earlier scrolls to be accurate....jesus was a historical figure but with little proof beyond the bible to prove he existed....but there is some....the shroud of turin is another proof....though false claims of it being a fake..it is real....the fire it was in around 1500 caused it be carbon dated to that time because of the soot deposits etc...rather the BLOOD proved the man died a painful death due to the enzymes present...the pollen found on it only come from jersusalem....the hands show the thumb disjointed as if there had been a spike through his wrist...the feet show a hole and blood stains..the forehead shows a pattern of holes as if a crown of thorns was placed there....the back shows a PERFECT Outline of a roman cat o' nine tails that he was whipped with etc...etc etc....do some research into gematria if you want "proof" there are things in the bible no man could create even if he wanted to....

good luck. freewill for all souls. believe as you will.

I totally understand your questions. Since you asked what we think, I will share what I think.

Religion and religious people are confusing. I spent years studying Christian theology, working in churches, and trying to figure out my own faith. It was and still is hard work. Although I do not believe in Christianity now, I still ask myself big questions about my faith life daily.

Questioning your faith is how faith grows. Have you ever noticed that people who take everything a pastor or preacher says as 100% right without questioning end up even more confused?

Each of us finds our own answers in our own time. Perhaps the questions you have now are going to lead you to even deeper faith. Understand that there is nothing wrong with your questions - the only wrong you could do is to accept everything you are told without question.

I hope that makes sense . . .

dead sea scrolls are just early written forms of some books of the Hebrew Bible. They are dated after the alleged life of Christ, and so don't mean much. They only have value as one of the earliest copies. Other than that, they are meaningless. They are no more proof of "God" that a Bible you purchased last week at K-mart.

I know that God exists and He is there for any who truly want to know Him. Do you have a bible? Take some time and open it to the gospels; Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Before you begin reading, pray to God. Tell Him you want to know about Him, about His son and His word. And then read. God never casts away any who truly seek Him.

May God bless you and guide you *smile*.

We do not have concrete proof of God's existence, except what we feel in our hearts. It is a matter of faith, and this may seem silly to some, but those who have felt God in their lives and in their heart can attest to the fact He is VERY real to them.

there's no proof of anything. what we call proof is not really much more than a speculation based on data suspected to relate to a theory, that is viewed widely as true. never heard anything about the scrolls...

Hon the more you study the more confusing it will get! The reason being it all defies logic! give yourself a break and dont worry about it.........some people have more to contend with and worrying what an old book written by authors on hearsay pales into significance............
