I'm 22 years old, in Columbus Ohio. I'm moving out of the house I lived in with my mother. I paid half the utillities, but no rent. I'm moving in with my boyfriend, Bob, 26, whom my mother hates and has threatened to have arrested for trespassing should he enter the house or step on the property with the intention of helping me move my stuff.

I know he cannot be kept from parking on the street by my house (residential suburb), but I want to know if he can be arrested for trespassing even if I invite him as still a current resident.

Help, ASAP.

Yes, as i understand it he can be arrested, because it isn't your house, it is your mothers. She can't say anything about him being parked out front. you could still have him help you move your stuff, you'll just have to bring it out of the house, to the sidewalk, and he can load it into the van, or whatever vehicle you are using to move, and of course, he can help unload everything and bring it into the place you are moving.

Try talking to your mom again, see if you can talk her into letting him in JUST THIS ONCE to help move. If not, just carry stuff out to the sidewalk, and let him load it all up as you bring it out.

Yes he can be arrested. It isn't your house and he has had is warning! You paying part of the up-keep, I suspect you are an adult, does not give you any additional rights!
