I hate the jerks who have given you mocking, snotty answers.
Shop for and find a realy nice sweater for him---or a shirt, whatever. Cookies are nice, food is nice, but a well shopped-for sweater is awesome. If you want to do a food thing---nuts are cool. Pistachios, walnuts, brazil nuts.
Or
take him out to dinner, and give him a big hug.
all these jerks who are making pedophile jokes---to hell with them. This guy was nice to you. nothing can change that---not a bunch of over-publicized perverts, NOTHING. Do not be ashamed of the good feelings he gave you---ever.
Sweater and dinner and some dried fruit or quality nuts. And a nice little note of thanks, recalling specific kindnesses.
blessings---brian

Take him something you love - like a pound of your favorite coffee from your favorite coffee shop or homemade bread. A gift that is from your heart and that has meaning to you will be more meaningful than anything else. After all, he bapized you - something a bit personal would be nice. You could also give him a lovely card that you write something meaningful in - like what your baptism has meant to you as you have grown up. Clergy people get all kinds of gifts, but those they treasure and enjoy most at the ones that come from the heart. Nothing fancy needed.

RC Priests usually don't like material gifts, or food.
We had a Priest (who became a Bishop) and a few people chipped in to give him a tennis raquette ... and a pass to our local water park ... but even though he was old, he still loved being active ... and he did kinda go crazy with the water at the Easter Vigil ... so the water park pass was quite cute.
Then we had another Priest (young dude) and a few people chipped in to get him Burkenstock's because he was transfering to a college campus where the hippies roam.
IDK ... like with everyone else, you gotta know their personalities ... Yankee Candles (masculine scents) would be cool ... ooo that might be it ... Baptism is about water & fire ... so get a floating candle for him.

Priests are on restricted budgets, so a gift card is a GREAT idea, especially if you have an idea of a place near where he lives that he likes. Or if he drinks coffee, Starbucks, Second Cup, whatever you guys have would be great. Or even amazon.com - everyone likes books, music, or movies!
If you know what he likes to drink, a bottle of wine or whiskey or whatever is great, but only do that if you (or your folks or whoever) know what he'd like.

i like the food related gifts and wine etc i think these would be nice. my only other suggestion would be possible a personalized catholic approved bible. not that he would need it as he likely has various versions but i still think it would be nice. go to the nearest catholic store and look around, you could even ask the opinions of the employees. the other genuine response were good to but i am sure that you are still strong in the faith is the best gift of all. god bless and enjoy your visit.

Maybe a new bible or gift card for dinner or maybe a really nice book mark! Maybe a gift basket with fruits and nuts and other little treats! I wish you luck and follow your heart and you will do fine! Sorry about all those stupid answers! Best Wishes & Good Luck!

I think something that would be really nice would be a dessert of some sort. Maybe a really good pie, or some chocolate chip cookies. I am being very serious. My whole family is very close to one priest, and sometimes my sister will make him chocolate chip cookies or a lemon meringue pie, which he loves. I think that would be really thoughtful. Good luck, and have fun! I hope all goes well.

By you showing up will be the best gift. Priests and Pastors see so many people come and go and the rewards are far and few between. By you showing up, thanking the priest, and telling the priest about your faith (what it means to you) will be a humble and cherished gift.
Lastly, if you want to give him something then pen sets, letter openers, and stuff like that are nice to have. They are neutral. If you knew the age of the person and knew their likes and dislikes and if the cost was no object then golf clubs, sports cars, and electronics would be my choice. You will be the best gift, bring a card (Hallmark of course), write something in it, and then give a pen set (with the priests name engraved on it). It will be a blessed time I am sure.
Thank you for thinking about your Priest.

With all of the sevens, why can not the sector finish on July seventh of the 12 months 7000? The Mayans (state-of-the-art Mexicans) mentioned the sector might finish on December 21 (the Summer Solstice) of 2012. What are the probabilities that Mexico might disappear in that date?

Well, he probably owns just about anything religious. But a nice gift might be a bottle of wine or a nice dessert or something homemade.
The only other thing I can possibly think of is maybe a statue of your patron saint.
Nice thought though...whatever you end up taking.
