True on a worldwide scale. In some areas where the population is mostly Atheist, this would of course not be true.

I was raised a Christian and as I began to study the Bible I found many difficulties with it. I eventually left being a Christian to study about Judaism, and almost converted to that until I found problems with that too. I studied all religions and now I am a Hindu but I also have taken back a lot of Christian teachings. I now see them from such a new perspective. After a certain amount of study, I had gotten to where I was vehemently opposed to Christianity, but after even more and more in-depth study, I have once again accepted much of it back. But now I do not interpret it literally.

I don't know where that first answerer is from, but most of the people I know researched and then became either Atheist or Pagan. Most of the people I know who are Christian were trained that way. (Not all - most). I've never met a "trained" Atheist. Not saying they don't exist - just that I've never met one. They usually know exactly why they're Atheists and can present a well crafted argument for why they have no religion.

Not exactly true for everyone. I've been researching for many years. I've read about each and every religion and have interview many people with different faiths. On the other hand, I've always liked science and I've read and study about all kind of science theories. The only effects all my reading and studying have had on me is, I no longer follow any scriptures, I'm not a church goer, and I distanced myself from mainstream Christianity, but I'm still a believer, I'm very sure about it and I'm proud of it.

Atheist. False. It's impossible due to the fact that Christians feel it's their duty to spread the word. Not only that, Christianity isn't the only religion that does so. Atheism isn't Anti-Christian, it's disbelief of religion and the supernatural. It only appears to some that we're anti-Christian because we live in a predominant Christan country. Do you not think that their are no atheist in Japan that don't believe in Shinto?

I was not trained to be a Christian, I did some searching, not all of which came from a book.
I was previously an Atheist and then became a Christian, so nope no training here.

FALSE!!!!! I was NOT trained to be a christian. I was taken to Sunday School as a child and memorized bible verses but that is NOT what makes you a christian. To be a christian you have to decide for yourselves that you want to take the Lord, Jesus Christ, into your life to be your savior. You are NOT required to read the bible to be a christian, only to accept Jesus. Praying, singing songs of praise, and reading the scripture isn't "required" to be a chirstian but it does help to strengthen your faith! Hope this helps!

A lot of Atheists research in order to answer some of the more ridiculous claims made by Theists in simple, childlike terms.

Personally my view of reality is the one I was born with, the same one we are all born with, I was just fortunate to not be raised in a country where brainwashing children is considered acceptable behavior.

"FALSE!"

There are some "Atheists" who have become Christians.... After....finding Intelligent Design!

NOT ALL..... who Calim to be Christians... are SO!

Adolph Hitler... Calimed to be Christian!

(Romans 1:19-to-25) because the thing which may be known of God is clearly revealed within them, for God revealed it to them.

(Rom 1:20) For the unseen things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being realized by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, for them to be without excuse.

(Rom 1:21) Because, knowing God, they did not glorify Him as God, neither were thankful. But they became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

(Rom 1:22) Professing to be wise, they became fools

(Rom 1:23) and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, and birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things.

(Rom 1:24) Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves.

(Rom 1:25) For they changed the truth of God into a lie, and they worshiped and served the created thing more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

Thanks, RR

My mom was Apostolic, so of course my brother and I were raised the same. I imagine it would happen that way with atheist parents as well. Some on both sides did research I think.

I don't think you really need to do any research not to believe in a god. That suggests that atheism needs some sort of proof.

It's simply a case of not believing what a religion presents.
