Most Christians are trained to use God as a dumping ground for everything they dont understand.

Here are examples

"I dont understand what just happen, God did it"

"I dont understand why we're here, God has a plan"

"I dont understand how the universe came about, God did it"

"I dont understand how I didn't die, God did it"

"I dont understand how I woke up, God did it"

FALSE. Still trying pretty hard to disprove us huh? Okay, I say false because even as a Christian I still question everything. God did not make me perfect or to understand everything. He made me with free-will. So, yeah, I question everything!!! But, when it all comes down I have to trust in Him. I do ask, "Why Lord. Why does it have to be so difficult." And then I move on. Oh, and your never gonna sway a true Christian to believe in nothing. But, you can keep trying all you want!!

False, but if you don't even consider that God might be real than I am talking to a brick wall. Hoewever, I will answer.

1) I do not use God as a dumping ground, however, with that said I do also ackowledge that He does make His presence know in people's lives and does take very personal interest in what happens to us.

2) I don't understand why Saddam Hussein massacred millions, God didn't do it Saddam did. God might have had a hand though in us finding the bastard and bringing him to justice.

3) I do understand why we are here and YES God is a very important part of it whether we accept Him or not.

4) I do understand how the universe came about because I researched and found out how. And YES God did have a hand in that, too, whether we accept His role or not.

In fact, I'll stop right there because of one fact. Why would we be scared if God DID have a hand in anything that happens in our lives? I personally would rather error on the side of showing too much appreciation than not enough. I ask again, why would someone be afraid that God MIGHT have had a hand in something?

1. False, Because there are so many factors in life without understanding what happened one can't say anything either way about what happened.

2. False, God may or may not have a plan, but even if God did have a plan it would be our choice to determine the reason we are here.

3. (Trick Question) I understand the universe came about because God did it.

4. False See Answer to Question 1

5. I guess I dont know how to answer this because I know how I woke up and God had nothing to do with it.

Does any of this help?

False

I don't understand what just happened is usually followed by Help me to understand, not God did it.

Christians understand why they are here, To worship God. Its never a question to them.

Christians do understand how the universe came about. The problem is you refuse to accept their answer, not their answer.

To thank God for the fact that you may have survived a near death experience is not the same as saying God did it. Besides he very well may have.

The last one is just too stupid to even know how to answer you. I'm pretty sure your lack of intelligence has nothing to do with God. I'm pretty sure your willfully ignorant.

Why do Atheist cite hypothisis as facts? hmm?

True or False

Atheist Cite the hypothises of evolution as fact?
(You do not have proof you have evidence that you have made to fit into your world veiw. Its not the same thing. Its kind of like Christians twisting scripture to fit their religion.)

Atheist cite the hypothises of the big bang as fact?
(You do not have proof you have observation of a milisecond in the time the universe has been around and have no idea if the universe has always been expanding at the same rate or always exanding at all. Its all just a guess.)

Atheist cite the hypothisis of abiogenesis as a fact ?
(You ignore the astronomical odds against this happening because you just can't admit how ludicris the whole concept is.)

There is no one True or False answer because you have multiple clauses in your premise. Some of the things you mention are false because God is not a dumping ground. Just because I don't understand something, that doesn't mean that God is at fault for all of the tragedies and problems in this world. This is an imperfect world, and accidents, diseases, and problems are a result of that.

However, you are right when you say that God has a plan for our lives, even if we don't always understand it. I seriously doubt that you understand everything that's happened to you over the course of your lifetime, any more than any of the rest of us do.

But God is in control of the world and brings good out of all that happens to those who love Him and are called together according to His purpose. Understanding His plan with our intellect isn't as important as trusting Him with our whole heart, mind, and soul.

That doesn't make Him a dumping ground, but rather, a loving Father Who cares for His people even in the darkest times.

FALSE.

The problem with many atheists/Christian bashers is that you cannot accept the fact that while we hold our faith in G-d as absolute, we can also be intelligent, well learned people. For example, I have two Associates and one Bachelors degree, none of them in theology, yet I have willingly given my life over to my Lord. Why? Because He is the only one that has been able to answer the questions that life has put forth. For example:

1. How was the universe created? Well, if you go by the a-religious "big-bang" theory, the entire contents of the universe shrunk down to a size of a small object (there's dissension amongst the ranks as to how truly small it got). Once it reached critical mass, it exploded forth, from this miniature mass, to create the entire cosmos as we know it, in all it's vastness.

And you people ridicule us for believing that a divine entity created the heavens and the Earth as we know it?

2. How did man come about? Again, the a-religious Darwinian theorists believe that all life on this planet was a mere coincidence, that the right chemical compositions were in the right geological environment at the precise time for them to "inexplicably" (they still can't come up with a consensus as to what the precise factors were for the creation of life) create a living, single-celled organism. From there, over the course of billions of years, these organisms evolved from one life form to another, to adapt to the ever changing Earth.

And we're the fools for believing that a divine power came forth and created all life and living things. You're right, all those astronomical coincidences DO sound more plausible.

I could go on, but I don't see a point. Those that share my views will more than likely agree with me. Those that oppose my views will at best disregard what I've said, even if it makes sense to them. At worst, well, this is a public forum...

False! Those who blame God or satan, for any thing are confused. However, God has a plan, but many of us do not understand all of His plans, only what has been revealed to prophets. We Christians do understand through the Bible, that God does say He created the Heavens and earth. Many Christians give too much credit to satan for things that just happen.

False- I have never said any of these things, I do not blame things on Him. I like to understand Him and realize Him in my life. These statements sound like a person who- doesn't know and doesn't want to know, they are giving the quickest answer that will make them stop wondering. How does one truly understand God if they answer everything they don't understand with Him.

False. Christians are not trained to be ignorant, but it's simple just to use "God did it" as an easy crutch. Some just give into that temptation a little too easily instead of doing the work to find the answer.

2007-06-06 11:18:10 · answer #9 · answered by Anonymous · 1 0

FALSE!
As a child, I didn't understand how flipping a switch on the wall would turn on a light in a room. My parents did it.

As I matured and and developed my thinking process and could express abstract thought, I could begin to comprehend the principles and flow of electricity through circuitry and the glow of a filament in a bulb or the glow of an ionized gas. Thus, I can explain light in a room. It's no longer a mystery.

Now I can begin to understand light and energy sources from the sun and other stellar objects. And suddenly, the universe is not as mysterious to me.

Do you see how thinking is required to develop a faith in what we don't understand? God does not want us to be in the dark about who he is and how he would like to relate to us. He'll reveal himself as you go looking for him and then you'll grow in wisdom and understanding.
