Praying for someone and reporting that person are not mutually exclusive.

I have a very similar reaction as you do. When someone who doesn't know I'm a non-believer says "I'll pray for you" I'm fairly okay with it but I do inform them about where I stand after I thank them for thinking of me. If they do know I'm a non-believer I get snarky and basically tell them to keep their crap in their own pile.

It feels that way sometimes. One thing that bothers me is when someone tells so and so that they have a problem. So, the repsonse is, "I'll pray for you" and we each walk away. If a person has a problem then talk to them about it. If you tell them you will pray for them then stop what you are doing and pray for them. Don't just put it on your task list. Also, be careful of spreading "gossip" with your eyes closed and within groups of people. This, too, is a practice that some would call prayer and could be instead called gossip or "reporting" you. Yep, I agree with what you said to a point; however, not all people would pray in that way (or intentionally mean to). They are doing what they were taught. Prayer is from the heart and is to a God who is aware. It is to God so we really don't need to give a list of details or name names. God can figure it. it is our heart and our faith that is at the core of the act of praying.

This is a polite way of say "I'll pray for you" I and my faith are very strong and when I say that I hope that person realizes that I'm giving part of my service to God to "pray for them" instead of other people or things.
Perhaps that person has a health problem, is in trouble with family matters, has a spouse problem. It's just a way of say you'd like to ask Gods help, to help then also.
I'm sorry if you find something wrong with this, tell that person to "forget it" you don't need they're prayers, let them pray for someone that's grateful and that would appreciate the prayers. No one is reporting anyone.

No, when I tell someone "I will pray for you", I mean what I say, If I don't know your name I'll ask God to remember those I came in contact that day & to look after everyone. Why do you think it is a "report"?

They don't have to "report" you because God already knows- omniscient- All knowing. When Christians say "I'll pray for you" it is almost an admission to their own powerless-ness and the recognition that the best thing they can do for you is to bring your name before the throne of Christ. When some one says, "I'll pray for you" just Thank them. God can do so much more for you than they ever could.

I have a spiral notebook on my dresser that I write in everyday. When I see on the news or meet someone that needs prayer I write it in my little book. I guess I could say I'm reporting to God . You know I kinda like that.

No, they are certainly not.
If you don't believe in God, that is your choice. If we beleive in God it's our choice. we aren't forcing you to come to church, we just invite you.
NObody should force you to attend, or be nice or be compassionate or peaceful or couteous. It should come natural. When a Christian is on fire about their religion, they may forget that they are leaving you an example. Their love for Christ makes them defensive and they may act irrational.
A real Christian will pray for someone who needs God's intervention and grace. If you are hurting or in need, we should all pray for you. If you are in need of God's grace and mercy I will also pray for right now!.
Don't people report others only when they violate the Community Guidelines?

No. there is no need to "report' to someone who already knows everything.
They mean it in the best possible way. Prayer can only be a good thing.
