Are you talking about songs like My Girl, Papa was a rolling stone? If so those are just a few awesome songs.

There are tons of wonderful songs, but it depends on how old you want. In the first half of the last century, there were a lot of good songs, by Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Rodgers & Hammerstein, George Gershwin.

Earlier, there was Stephan Foster. Your public library might have music, either as sheet music or CDs.

How old? go to the sixties for good old pop songs. Consult books of folk music for old songs. Post some ideas and I'll try to be more specific. Hope this helps.
