could we clone are selfs for medical resonds?
like say if you needed a liver, you could just go kill your clone and get your liver. The you have no chance of your body rejecting it.

where whould we put the clones?

could there be an attack of the clones if we did?

whould the clone be Human?

Great question. Today's Doctors have to balance these types of ethical questions before deciding to go through with the capability of certain technologies meant to "help" society.

Its like the Goldbloom line from Jurassic Park, which was a movie about cloning Dinosaurs. Scientists get so preoccupied with whether they can do something that not enough thought goes into whether they SHOULD.

With human cloning, I think the answer is a resounding NO!! I can't help but think that creating human life to glean or take from it for someone elses benefit demeans and devalues that life. Noone agrees with slavery, yet we would debate creating human life to be hurt or just used for someone elses benefit...do you see the hypocricy there. I can forsee that clones would be used as "material" and therefore subject to unprotection of our constitution.

We weep about using monkeys, dogs, or any other animal to test on for products to benefit humans. Yet we debate the opportunity to destroy HUMAN life in the name of medicine.

I cannot help but think our society is almost too far gone to reason any more. I fear for the future generations of people who not only will face that debate but also what to do with those unwanted pregnancies and those costly elderly or those inconvenient mentally challenged persons. We are just a few steps away from Gas Chambers and furnaces for those we deem "unwanted".

We have already devalued human life enough. When humans are looked at as having no value then there will be no rule of law to govern how we are treated by our government or by each other. We would truly set up a survival of the fittest society.

I believe every human being has intrinsic value because we are made in the image of our creator. We need to find ways to respect that life and see that everyone has what they need to live fulfilling lives. For these reasons and many more...the answer here is NOOO to human cloning...it opens up so many cans of worms that it would be impossible to get them all back in when we realized we went too far!!

Medical Reasons For Cloning

There is a process that you can make a "clone" of one of your organs. The controversial part is that it requires making stem cells from an egg cell that has genetic information. This embryo would be made from one of your cells, and the DNA would be injected into an egg (with the original nucleus removed). The resulting stem cells would be treated to grow into whatever organ/tissue is needed.
A lot of people feel it's morally wrong to do this. The fact that there is so much debate implies that there is, indeed, a moral problem. But consider: 1. not all eggs will become babies. Wouldn't it be a better use of them to save a life? 2. The genetic material would come from one of your own cells, just like every other tissue in your body. 3. The "embryo" made like this could never become an independent life. This type of cloning is soooo error prone, it's impossible. The idea of making a copy of yourself is just absolutely ridiculous, and is not even a topic considered in the scientific community.
However, it is still something that needs to be discussed, logically and fairly, to prevent ethics in biology from being completely thrown away.

I do not think it is wrong but I would not do it.
If it is done then I believe that once "born" the clones would have the same rights as those that cloned. What would prevent a clone having a host killed to get an organ?
Lastly, knowing some of the people I do, one of them is enough tow would be terrible.

a clone is just a biocopy of a human being meaning you can get any organ without your body rejecting it or risking any illness you can get passed on. most people dont egree because of the science fiction it involves and religious issues.
but laying the cards on the table if you are dieing seeking for a kidney and the only resource is a copy of your, why not do it.

Why not clone for just the liver instead of the human? It's unethical to clone a person just to torment him or her or just for organs.
