Is television getting out of hand? Weeelll, I was watching "America's got Talent" last night, and I was shocked at how rude that Pier (or whatever his name is) was. To go further, on "So you think you can dance", one of the judges was really rude (e.g. "dont come back unless we're looking for your type" "what is MY type?" "overweight and can't dance"). every show like these seems to have a "Simon Cowell" type british guy who beats up even little children with their words. I know I sound really angry, but I just think that more advice should be given, and less tearing down. anyone else think so?

I agree with what you are saying, but if you look at it from the other side, the rude judges are really just voicing their exasperation with these people that really have little or no talent to begin with. If you spent an entire day watching these people you would quickly become annoyed with those that are just wasting your time. Some of these contestants have been told by their Mothers, friends , etc, for so long that they have talent, that they actually believe it.
We are now seeing the backlash from years of political correctness.....and the "you can do anything you set your mind to" mentality...when in fact if you can't sing, you shouldn't be in the choir, if you can't play babeball you shouldn't be on the team.
Its just a shame that we have to be taught this lesson by a bunch of Brits getting rich of our ignorance and stupidity.

Unfortunately America and Europe are turning into societies that enjoy cruelty towards people. I am a Brit and Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan are both despised as talentless little creeps in the UK.

I will not watch these 'shows' because they just make me angry. Rotten people make rotten TV.

I totally agree. Any contestant type show of today always have to have at least one mean, insensitive judge/host... and for me, this includes shows such as Jay Leno or David Lettermen. Really, what do they gain by taking pot-shots at people, that can't immediately defend themselves? Has this world become so insensitive that the audience actually considers this "entertainment" or "humorous"?

What happened to the days where you tried you best, and if you weren't picked .. you went home, with your pride intact. If certain judges feel the need to verbalize their distaste with a contestant, save it for later ... when the contestant actually has a chance to defend themselves, without millions of people laughing at them. I think this new "trend" is mean, distasteful and sad. :(

i know what your talking about, he was so evil, after reading your question i just knew who you were talking about,
that show is called americas got talent so why have ppl from other countrys picking who has talent hu.
another thing is if they didnt have a guy like that we wouldnt be talking about him right now would we, and thus giving ppl a reason to watch the show to see how rude he is

I agree- - but then again most of those people don't have the IQ to come up with a constructive comment if they had directions for some.
Proof that negativity takes no brainpower at all.
