Earlier today, this delightful site was posted by an atheist, who wanted to know what Christians thought of it:
http://www.truechristian.com/
Now, before you go there, I need to warn you (as our atheist buddy did not) that this is a troll site...a rather ridiculous attempt by a really twisted person to make Christians look like idiots.
My question is, after you've seen this pathetic parody, what do you, as an atheist, think?
Many of you have roasted Christians for posting hate-sites, and rightly so...thinking of Freddie Phelps, for instance, who is an embarrassment to Christ, let alone Christianity.
So, having truthfully told us that posting hate sites is a no-no, and showing us the error of our ways...do you now think this site is "funny"??
Since you have all read the Bible, or so you tell us, and since you all have such high IQs and are so logical, I'm sure your answers will be courteous and considerate.
Thank you.

I'd like to thank the American Atheist for pointing out to me that intellect and logic do not necessarily correlate to courtesy and consideration. So, from now on, I guess I will have to change my thinking...intelligent people can be rude and condescenting, and logical people don't understand that courtesy helps to heal the differences people have.
Good thing my Grandma has been gone, lo, these many years...such a revelation would break her poor heart...

Much of that site is pretty silly, and heavy-handed as well. A lot of it however is NOT that far off from emulating much of what I see on Christian sites. In fact, some of the stuff on the True Christian site is copied/pasted from legitimate, non-parody Christian sites. Doesn't that disturb you? Putting aside your disengenuous condescension for a moment, don't all the parts of that site that ACCURATELY portray fundamentalist Christian ideas and philosophies bother you?

If those things DON'T bother you, you are either EXACTLY who TrueChristian.com is targetting or you weren't paying close enough attention.

I'm not an Atheist but I saw it for what it was - a parody of the worst at their worst. And even then it's greatly exaggerated to include the extreme from all angles. I wouldn't call it a hate site so much as a parody site.

How is it "hateful" to simply restate the ridiculous things that millions of people claim to believe. I read a few of the kid's stories and they simply say in plain English what the Bible stories say. The fact that they are blatantly ridiculous claims is not the fault of the person that rephrased them. That fault would lie with the original authors. And perhaps more so with those who would believe such foolishness given the availability of abundant evidence to the contrary.

I thought it was funny. No Donation, No salvation made me laugh. I did not know it was a parody then. A few clicks in and I knew it was obviously a parody. Some of it was not well done at all. A good parody should be subtle.

You can post all the hate sites you want. I like to read them.
I like to know what you people are thinking.

It's okay, but not nearly as funny as Betty Bowers. Now that is funny!

PS -- High IQs and logic do not have a direct correlation to courtesy and consideration.

Its usually quite simple to make xtians "look like idiots", as you put it, and this website goes the "simple" route as well. Its really quite poorly done, and frankly, not that entertaining.

I prefer this one, more subtle and just a better web design:
http://objectiveministries.org/kidz/

Then there are actual, non-parody sites that do all the work for you:
http://www.wayofthemaster.com/
http://www.godsark.org/

Its funny, but unfortunately we're not laughing WITH them; we're laughing AT them.

I think what's more interesting than a Christian troll is the simple fact that this site, along with countless other counter-Christian web sites are constantly hacked by "honest" Christian folk. LOL

-After digging deeper into the site, I found it quite entertaining. It's now in my bookmarks. Thanks for the link :)

Landover Baptist is funnier.

Incidentally, this is an application of Poe's Law: There is no parody so ridiculous that someone won't take it for the real thing.

I never chose to be an atheist, I chose not to follow God and to break His commanmdents... and now I'm an atheist even though I know that God exists. I think he's misguided and a pity case.

Yes, I find it hilarious. Why? Because I've seen worse from Christians.

You realize Phelps could call you not a Christian. Why is it your job to say who is and isn't a Christian? Can I call Christians "Not human," because they don't mesh with my perception of humanity? Didn't think so.
