The same way he put it in the minds of the lions not to eat Daniel and his three companions; the same way he made all of the animals of the earth that he wanted preserved from the flood, the same way he could make us veritable robots; but that has never been the goal of a God of love who only wants us to love him back because we want to... because He gave us everything; including the breath of life itself! namely our very souls depend on Him for our very own survival!

Well He works in 'mysterious' ways ;) If you believe in God as the creator of everything in six days six thousand years ago when the science says that the Universe was created about fifteen billion years ago. And, the Earth is claimed to be about four point five billion years old and is a second generation planet (created) as well as our sun. second generation made up of gasses and elements and other debris from other stars as they die and super nova.

It is very radical to put God into this equation.

Scotty -- The question was can God force people to love them not may or may not.

Yours is basically a phlisophical question. If one believes in God, especially The God of the Bible, then you need to understand that God placed a self limitation on Himself:ie-
He could stop a plane from crashing that loses both wings, but it would contradict the law of nature and gravity which he made. He could make people love Him, but he wont because he voluntarily self limited himself so that when one really wants to know him it is that individuals free will. We live in a self ordered world that God made-Thats why things work regularly like they do.

In the christian religion, God created mankind to freely love Him. Could he have created us robots with no free will? Sure. Why not? Because He wanted us to freely love Him and choose Him. I'm a christian and that is my answer.

Of course God can do anything, but He chooses not to lie and not to force people to be saved! He down't want a bunch of robots "loving" Him.

Of course not! Jehovah God does not force anyone to love him. Jehovah lets everyone make their own decisions. If people would rather serve the Devil Satan than the loving God Jehovah, that's there choice.

John, God can do anything He wants to do. He is God. But what kind of relationship would a person have with God, if God made that person to worship Him. You would not want your wife to love you because she had to, but because she found in you lovable qualities. God wants our love, but He will never make you love Him. You must love Him because it is your choice.

God does not force people to love Him, because He wants us to come freely. That is why He sent His Son as payment for our sins. Just to think that anyone would choose to die for me, is amazing enough and proof enough that He loves us. So why wouldn't we want to love Him?

It's called rape, and No means No.

Seriously, why create free will and then force people? Wouldn't that suggest God doesn't know His own mind? And what forced love could ever be love?

Yes He can but chooses not to. Now what should that teach us people down here?

When things are static they cannot improve, when they are mobile they can move both ways, which is the necessary risk.
